I actually went to elementary school with Mel Gibson. We were in the same class. He attended Laurens Central School in Laurens New York. My sister, 10 years older than me, graduated with his sister. It's a very small school then, K-12. It just says M. Gibson in our class photo. I'm assuming it's him.
I believe he is only Catholic in the sence that he's been baptized and received communion and has been confirmed etc. He doesn't have Catholic beliefs, demonstrated by his infidelity and recent divorce.
