No, you need a diamond pickaxe to successfully mine obsidian, and it takes 15 seconds. With anything else it take a minute, roughly. If you do not use a diamond pickaxe you will not be able to mine the obsidian.

How can you make your single player minecraft world in to a multiplayer one?
In your saves for Minecraft, copy the world that you want to make into a server world. Be sure to copy the entire folder. Open your server folder and paste it there. In the server properties file, change the name of the server to the name of your world's folder. Then launch the server and it should be your exact world.

Well, that's easy, I think you might already know how to do this by now, so sorry if you do, but here it is in steps:
1: Download the map you want
2: It's a .zip file, right click the folder (best to download to desktop) and click extract here, or extract all, if it's extract all, choose to extract it to desktop in it's own folder
3: Rename the folder World# with at the # the world you want it to be when u select the world.
4: Restart Minecraft and the world should be there

Go onto video settings, set mipmap to minimal, turn off clouds, set graphics to fancy, and reduce your render distance. This should help with accessing your resource packs. What's going on is your computer is trying to anticipate which resource pack you will apply, and to accomodate it's trying to display all your resource packs at once. This should help reduce the strain on the RAM.

Where are the best places to find diamonds in Minecraft?
hit hardcore then go 12 blocks up, and mine side to side, then i found a bunch of diamond, iron, and coal
Diamonds are found only below level 16 in the ground. (That means lower than 16 blocks before bedrock). However, they are found a bit more common above level 6 and below level 13. But be careful because there are lava lakes around level 10. Tip: When you find diamond ore, a good thing to do is to mine all the blocks around it to make sure there isn't lava to burn it up when you mine it.
