You need 8 wooden planks and 1 diamond. Put the diamond in the middle of a crafting table, and put wooden planks around them.

You must first find clay. You find clay in shallow water. Then, dig up the clay and you will get clay balls. Cook the clay balls in a furnace and you will get brick. Take four brick and and put it in your crafting area. You will then get a brick block, which you can place. Hope this helps :)

You cannot necessarily "build" any furniture using the crafting table other then the bed. You can however make things look like furniture.

First, you'll need a block of clay (found in water), go to the furnace and heat it up with either wood, or charcoal. Wait a minute or two to let it finish heating up, then you will have 3 bricks. After that, go to your crafting station, and then put one brick on the 2nd left line. Then, put the 2nd brick in the 3rd middle line. And, for the last brick, put it on the 2nd right line. It will give you 1 flower pot. Place it down anywhere, and if you have a flower with you, hold the flower in your hands, and click on the pot, then you have a flower pot with a flower in it!

There is no way in vanilla Minecraft to change game modes. In order to change your gamemode, you must use mods, such as Singleplayer Commands or Too Many Items, which either one can change it.
