Molds can cause nasal stuffiness, throat irritation, coughing or wheezing, eye irritation, or, in some cases, skin irritation. People with mold allergies may have more severe reactions. Immune-compromised people and people with chronic lung illnesses, such as obstructive lung disease, may get serious infections in their lungs when they are exposed to mold. These people should stay away from areas that are likely to have mold, such as compost piles, cut grass, and wooded areas.

There is no such thing as "green mold," the green pigment that you see is the result of spores, which molds use to reproduce.

If the mildew has been on the fabric for some time, it could be too late because the mold will eat away or rot the fabric. If it has not yet reached that point, brush off as much of the surface growth as possible. Do this outdoors or over a tub or sink that can later be cleaned with bleach to kill the spores and prevent growth elsewhere. Sun and heat will kill mildew. Lay or hang the garment in the sun and give it time to work. After the sunlight has done as much as it can do, presoak your garment in cold water then wash in the hottest water the fabric can tolerate, with your usual or the garment's recommended detergent. Hang or lay in the sun to dry.

If any mildew spots remain after this treatment, consider professional cleaning. Be sure to tell them the stains are from mildew. If you would rather do-it-yourself, you will have no choice but to use a bleaching method or trash the garment. The goal is to find the one that will allow your garment to retain as much of it's color as possible by using the weakest solution of the bleach that will kill the mildew but not affect the color. Spot-testing is a must.

Combine lemon juice and salt into a paste, spread over the stain and lay in the sun for bleaching. Rinse thoroughly and wash according to the method above.

Use a powder bleach containing sodium perborate or potassium monopersulfate. Combine 1-2 tablespoons of the powder with a pint of the hottest water safe for the fabric. Sponge onto the stain or soak the stain in the solution for 30 minutes. Rinse completely and was according to the method above.

Chlorine bleach can be diluted to 2 tablespoons per quart of water and still be effective at killing and removing mildew. Sponge or soak the stained area 5-15 minutes. To stop the bleaching action, soak in a solution of 2 tablespoons of vinegar per cup of water. You must be sure the fabric is tolerable of chlorine bleach (check the label for a warning.)

You should feel around the suspected area's walls and floor for dampness. Sometimes even ceilings have mildew, too, so check there as well. If you're not quite sure but son't want to risk letting the mildew grow, call a professional to help find out for you.

There is no current research showing that incinerating the powdery mildew spore and inhaling the smoke from the combusted material causes health problems.

It's completely possible that once the spore has been incinerated it dies and will not have any role in affecting your biological system.

This being said, it's still mold and you're smoking a living creature.

Your best chance of getting rid of the mold and mildew is to use bleach to clean it. Mix the bleach with water according to the directions on the bottle, and you can also add a few drops of dish detergent if you want. Although you didn't state what type of surfaces you need to clean (concrete floor, walls, etc.), bleach can safely be used on many of these surfaces. Apply, let set a few minutes and rinse well. Depending on the type of surface, and the severity of the mold and mildew, you may have to scrub a little to get rid of all of it. If you are unsure of a particular surface, test a small inconspicuous area first, just to be safe. If there are areas or surfaces that you know you cannot use bleach on, try mixing table salt with enough water or lemon juice to form a paste, then scrub the area or surface with it, and rinse.

The scientific name of mildew is typically classified as belonging to the group of fungi known as Oomycetes. Examples include the species Pseudoperonospora cubensis, which causes downy mildew in cucurbits, and Plasmopara viticola, responsible for downy mildew in grapevines.

5 percent bleach in water. Wear rubber gloves. Wipe it and all surrounding areas with a washrag and the bleach wash mixture rag.

Mix 1 cup of liquid laundry bleach with 2 quarts of water. Add about 2 tablespoons of a powdered cleanser containing trisodium phosphate. Scrub on the mixture, allow it to dry on the surface and rinse it off throughly with lots of plain water. When dry, repaint as soon as possible.

use 1/2 water and 1/2 bleach and apply for atleast 10 mins and use a nylon brush to remove . if that doesn't work try a product called mold blaster or something similar

If possible take the entire blind down. Roll the blind to it's full open length. Spray with diluted chlorine bleach and scrub the mold and mildew off. Allow to fully dry, then rehang the fresh clean blinds.

They contain a certain type of mold that makes you sick. They infect plants. For example the potatoe famine was caused by a downy mildew.

Get a product called microban.. Microban is a broad spectrum disinfectant proven effective against most bacteria, fungus and mildew odors caused by bacteria and germs. It truly is the best of both worlds – potent disinfecting properties with safe active ingredients.. Find the source of the scent, you must eliminate the source of the mildew. it might be in places like under the seats.. leave microban on carpet for 10-30 minutes and the use a wet vacumm to suck it up.. then leave it to dry.. Contact a company that encapsulates crawlspaces. You can clean tghe mildew but until you correct the problem, high humidity, it will keep coming back.

To clean mold or mildew from underneath a toilet's rim, you can use a commercial product like a mildew remover. You should spray the area with this product and wait about 10 minutes before removing the cleaner with a sponge. If the mildew is not completely removed, then repeat the process.
