How do Muslims show respect in a mosque?
What is a prayer room used for in a mosque?
The correct answer, from a Muslim, is that we pray separately for reasons of modesty and it is totally possible to get attracted as GOD has created attraction Between Men and Women). In the time of the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) women would pray in rows behind the rows of men. If they prayed in front of the men or mingled with the men then when we prostrate men would get a direct view of womens bottoms, this is not a way to be modest and would make it difficult for everyone to concentrate on their prayers.
These days we either pray behind the men, in rows adjacent to men, with a curtain dividing men and women or in a separate prayer room for women.
What is the difference between a church and mosque?
Church
Mosque
okay since that is said, since i am Muslim, i will say some of the less obvious differences
mosque is the English word for where a Muslim worships, most, if not all, Muslims call it a Masjid. This is an Arabic word that means a place where prostration (you know when ur touching your head on the floor) takes place. This is one thing that is different, i have never heard of people in a church prostrating, and i don't know what other kinds of differences you are looking for but these are very basic things
In addition to the above, that I fully agree upon:
The mosque (or masjid) does not include any icons or prophet pictures or statues as the church.

Then they gently draw their hands over their head with wet hands.
Then they take water to their fingers and clean the ears with it.
Then they wash their feet three times, starting with the right one.

it's and area that leads into the prayer room that has arches.
Why do you have your shoes of in a mosque?
because when you enter a mosque it is clean. And when you pray you have to take your shoes off because the holy prophet muhammed was wearing his shoes when he was praying and then angel gabriel came to him during his prayer and told him that you have to take your shoes off and he did.He did this because you walk on unclean ground and when you pray in the mosque you must be clean.:]
Why do mosques have 4 minarets?
As well as providing a visual cue to a Muslim community, the call to prayer is traditionally given from the top of the minaret. In some of the oldest mosques, such as the Great Mosque of Damascus, minarets originally served as watchtowers illuminated by torches (hence the derivation of the word from the Arabic nur, meaning "light"). In more recent times, the main function of the minaret was to provide a vantage point from which the muezzin can call out the adhan, calling the faithful to prayer.
In most modern Mosques, the adhan is called not in the minaret, but in the musallah, or prayer hall, via a microphone and speaker system. However, the minaret remains as an architect symbol for the mosque.
Is there a mosque in Cornwall?
Original answer: As of November 2009, there is no formal place of worship in Cornwall, however, the "Cornwall Asian Community Centre" accommodates Muslim prayer. It is located in Carnon Downs, ten minutes from Truro.
The centre offers weekly Friday prayers at a dedicated venue.

[Edit by IM]Dec 2014. OK, as of this year this place is a mosque, serving around 600 local Muslims, with regular meetings including the important Friday Salah (prayer service plus preachers) on these premises. The building is a disused Christian church. The local council will supply details of how it was acquired, planning procedures etc.
NB: The term `Community Centre` is often used in other places in UK too, to cover up the fact that a Muslim mosque has been established.
The full address is Quenchwell Road Carnon Downs, Truro. They say they welcome visitors, even on Friday (1pm service).
The website given above was OK a few weeks ago, but this URL is currently messaged as `account suspended.` To enquire details, phone 01872 870137

Mosques are visually richly furnished as a sign of respect to God?
More as a sign to self admiration of the builder.
As more distant of the truth you go, the more grandiose it gets.
The Tabernacle was the most significant and the only true God physical connection requirement, commanded to be built by God itself to Moses.
Later on, without any commandment it was replaced by the Temple in Jerusalem.
The Temple building was also the prominent promise of it's destruction.
So the Tabernacle was very simple, then the Temple was made of stone but yet simple, and then all nations built huge and crazy monuments and churches trying to overcome their emptiness and lie with grandiosity and humiliation of the observer.
What do you called altar in mosque?
There isn't really an "altar" in a mosque in the way that churches have one. There is a small recession in one wall, called a "mihrab" that indicates the direction to pray, and there is a platfrom that the imam sits on when giving a sermon, which is called a "mimbar," but no altar.
