:9/18/08 updatedIt was Greg McMurtry who was drafted by both the Patriots and the Red Sox. He was drafted (right out of high school) by the Boston Red Sox in the 1986 draft. He was the 14th pick of the first round of the MLB draft. He did not sign with the Red Sox, and instead accepted a full scholarship to the University of Michigan. McMurtry was drafted by the Patriots in 1990. He was a third round pick, 80th overall.
