The Stanley Cup Playoffs begin in April with 16 teams making it to the post-season. There are 4 rounds, each round is a best of seven series. The date of the final game and subsequent awarding of the Stanley Cup will vary slightly from year to year and depends greatly on how many games is needed in the final round for one team to accumulate four victories. However, it is usually around the second week of June.
In the NHL playoffs does the better record get home advantage?
I think that it is, only if the away team is from a distance like Carolina vs Boston because lets face it, who wants to go up to watch the game. Only the avid fans will travel but there wont be as many as the home town team. Big home crowd = noise for home team and visa versa.
