Who is a Guy with a gopher-wood ship?
Noah was asked to build the ark (basically a 'box') out of, literally, "trees of Gopher" (Genesis 6:14),a resinous wood thought by many to be cypress or a similar tree. It is in abundant supply in that part of the world, and was used for centuries in shipbuilding by the Phoenicians and by Alexander the Great, being especially resistant to water and decay. This type of wood caused the Ark to float easily (Genesis 7:17)
Where in the Bible dose it state you should leave your grandchildren an inheritance?
The Bible mentions the importance of leaving an inheritance for future generations in Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children." This verse emphasizes the value of providing for one's descendants, suggesting that wise stewardship includes planning for the financial well-being of grandchildren as well. While not extensive, this principle reflects a broader biblical theme of caring for family and future generations.
Did noah exit the ark on feast of passover?
There were a total of 8 people in the ark, they were Noah, his wife , his three sons and their 3 wives.
What were some of the sins preformed by the people of Noah's time?
A perspective:
Any number of lessons may be drawn from Noah's account. For instance... Jesus tells us that when He returns with the Kingdom of God, earth's society shall have reverted to the utter wickedness that was extant in Noah's day.
"When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day. In those days before the Flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn't realize what was going to happen until the Flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes." (Matt.24:37-39 NLT New Living Translation)
Of course, few people seem to "believe" that Jesus IS coming back... just like those in Noah's day didn't "believe" in a flood. Yet, Peter draws the comparison of the Flood to the approaching Day of Christ:
"First, I want to remind you that in the last days there will be scoffers who will laugh at the Truth and do EVERY EVIL THING THEY DESIRE..." (II Peter 3:3 NLT).
Compare this with Noah's day: "...the LORD observed the extent of the people's wickedness, and He saw that all their thoughts were consistently and totally evil." (Gen.6:5 NLT)
Peter continues: "This will be their argument: 'Jesus promised to come back, didn't He? Then WHERE IS HE? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained exactly the same since the world was first created.'" (verse 4) [although the world has ventured away from God the Creator into the belief that "creation can occur without a Creator" and teaches that "the design, order, laws, etc., in creation are accidental."]
"They deliberately forget that GOD MADE THE HEAVENS by the WORD of His command, and He brought the earth up from the water and surrounded it with water. Then He used the water to destroy the world with a mighty flood." (verses 5-6)
Peter, also, draws "Noah's day" into the end time picture. Only the "end time flood" will be FIRE... a Fire named JESUS CHRIST!
"And God has commanded that the heavens and the earth will be consumed by Fire on the Day of Judgment, when ungodly people will perish." (verse 7)
So, "what is Noah about in the Bible?"
Noah is a "witness and a warning" to the "Wise." The "Wise" being "those who Fear God" [see Prov.9:10 & Eccle.12:13-14]... believe His Word... and conducttheir lives accordingly, in "obedience to His Commandments."
Those in these last days that are like the days in which Noah lived; and whose Faith lies in the LORD as Noah's did, can take Noah's example to heart as to "how to conduct oneself" in a world gone "consistently and totally evil."
Matthew Henry explains it this way:
"...Noah did not find favour in the eyes of men; they hated and persecuted him, because both by his life and preaching he condemned the world: but he found grace in the eyes of the LORD, and this made him more truly honorable than the men of renown. LET THIS BE OUR CHIEF DESIRE, let us labour that we may be accepted of Him. When the rest of the world was wicked, Noah kept his integrity. God's goodwill towards Noah produced this good work in him. He was a Just man, that is, Justified before God, by Faith in the promised Seed. As such he was made holy, and had Right Principles; and was Righteous in his conversation [conduct]. He was not only honest, but devout; it was his constant care to do the will of God.
"God looks down upon those with an eye of favour, who sincerely look up to Him with an eye of Faith. It is easy to be religious when religion is in fashion; but it shows strong Faith and Resolution, to swim against the stream, and to appear for God when no one else appears for Him; Noah did so.
"All kinds of sins were found among men. They corrupted God's worship. Sin fills the earth with violence, and this fully Justified God's resolution to destroy the world. The contagion spread. When wickedness is become general, ruin is not far off; while there is a remnant of praying people in a nation, to empty the measure as it fills, Judgments may be long kept off; but when all hands are at work to pull down the fences, by sin, and none stand in the gap to make up the breach, what can we expect but a flood of wrath?" (Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary: Gen.6:8-11; Noah finds grace)
Noah is about "a praying remnant" in a "consistently and totally evil" end time world that's primed for Christ's return; the coming FLOOD OF GOD'S WRATH. Noah is an example to the end time Faithful:
"The LORD isn't really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think [He gave Noah 120 years to prepare for the flood]. No, He is patient FOR YOUR SAKE. He does not want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent... And so, dear friends, while you are [Faithfully] waiting for these things to happen [as it happened in the days of Faithful Noah], MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO LIVE A PURE AND BLAMELESS LIFE. And be at Peace with God." (II Peter 3:9-14 NLT)
Noah [among other things] is a "warning to the end time WISE"... those whose Faith is in Christ.
"I am WARNING YOU AHEAD OF TIME, dear friends, so that you can watch out and NOT BE CARRIED AWAY BY THE ERRORS OF THESE WICKED PEOPLE. I don't want you to lose your own secure footing. But grow in the special favor and Knowledge of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ..." (verses 17-18).
"It was by Faith that Noah built an ark to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about something that had never happened before. By his Faith he condemned the rest of the world and was made Right in God's sight." (Heb.11:7 NLT)
How many decks were in Noah's ark?
Three. Genesis 6:16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
Was there different races on Noahs ark?
The story of Noah's Ark, as described in the Bible, does not specifically mention different races but focuses on Noah and his family, who were believed to be the only humans saved from the flood. According to the biblical account, all human beings are descendants of Noah's three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. This would imply that all races emerged from these three lineages after the flood, but the concept of race as we understand it today is a social construct that developed much later in human history. Thus, while the narrative does not address race explicitly, it suggests a common ancestry for all humanity.
Og was a king of Bashan mentioned in the Bible, particularly in the books of Numbers and Deuteronomy. He is described as one of the last of the Rephaim, a group of giants, and his defeat by the Israelites is noted as a significant victory during their conquest of the Promised Land. Og's iron bedstead, which is mentioned in Deuteronomy 3:11, is often cited as evidence of his great size. His story symbolizes God's support for the Israelites as they overcame formidable foes.
How was Noah's ark a shadow of salvation?
Noah's Ark serves as a shadow of salvation by symbolizing God's provision for deliverance from judgment. Just as the ark protected Noah and his family from the flood, salvation through faith in Jesus Christ offers protection from spiritual judgment. The ark's entrance represents the exclusive way to safety, mirroring Christ as the sole path to salvation. Additionally, the covenant God made with Noah after the flood signifies His commitment to redeem and restore humanity, reinforcing the theme of hope and new beginnings in salvation.
Based on the time line in the bible 4400 years ago (the great barier reaf, and the world's oldest tree are about that old).
When the last dove did not return what do you think this meant for Noah?
It told Noah that the water had gone down far enough for the dove to find a tree to nest in. And it was down far enough for the bird to find food. So that was a good sign that the water had gone down pretty far.
Where was the door to Noah's ark?

How is Schindler's ark like Noah's ark?

Was Noah's ark before the Ice Age?
There have been several ice ages, but the most recent one was around 20,000 years ago. The time attributed to the biblical Noah's Flood is only around 5,000 years ago (based on biblical genealogies from Noah down to the time of Jesus), so it could not have been before the last ice age.
YES, I think it was around the same time. Noah's Floodoccurredmore than 5,000 years ago. However, the Jewishcalendarbegins in year one when they received the Torah on MountainSinai after escaping their slavery in Egypt, which was little over 5,000 years ago close to 6,000. Just like modern day, we are in year 2013 because we started counting when Jesus died. If we started counting from Adam & Eve we would be in year 2. something billion.
What did noahs youngest son do that merited a curse from his father?
Its actually a fairly amusing story. In Genesis 9:20-25, you can read that Noah got drunk and fell asleep naked in his tent (this is after the flood, by the way). Noah's son Ham then sees him laying there, and tells his other brothers, Shem and Japheth. Shem and Japheth are respectful enough to not look at their father as they cover him with a blanket. When Noah wakes up, he is angry at Shem for disrespecting him and cursed him.
What was the world like before the Ark was built by Noah?
Once we go outside the Bible, we find that the world has existed for over four billion years, and that life developed and evolved in many different forms, until modernm man finally evolved over two hundred thousand years ago. At first, there were no houses and no cities. By the time the Bible tells us of Noah's Ark, mankind had been through an ice age and had learnt to develop agriculture. Settlements had formed, although not great cities as envisaged in the Bible.
