Yes it is possible the ark could be a different shape and design. The Bible does not say what the sahpe exactly was. It's usually thought to be a box. Because this would be the simplest design. However, it would seem as long as the dimensions would conform as outlined in scripture it would still be consistant with scripture. For example it could be more like a giant "A" framed houselike roof upon a ship's barge-like bottom hull.Like a triangle with the top cut off.30 cubits high vertically and 50 cubits wide at the base horizonically like the base of a pyramid. This is an extremelly interesting question. Especially since Noah's Ark was not thought to be a box like design at the earliest about 12th century AD. Too, there's many box like shapes on Mt. Aararat & other Ararat mtn range mtns also. Very much worth checking out. A Biblical-Researcher Added:-(Jan.21rst,2009)-The reply below is understandable. However, it is not realistic to say that :"That shape of Noah's Ark could be restrictied to dimensions exspressed in just a box.If this were the case than everything in construction should only be limited in building it in the shape of a rectangular box. However, this is not the case.Ask any draftsman, builder, or construction developer. We do not see buildings or houses everywhere built in the shape of a rectangular box. If these dimensions can be built into a different shape than a box than that "blows this theory below out of the water".Too, it is like saying:"We can limit God's creativeness, and imagination that the ark's shape had to be built in just the shape of a box.If the shape in these scriptural dimensions in which the ark was to be built, could also fit other shapes as the first answer above states, than secondly again this invalidates restricking the ark's shape to that of a box. In other words;"Prove that the only the shape of a box can be built in these dimensions in construction ,and not any other shape, and than you may have something. Otherwise such is not the case until that can be done". The shape of Noah's Ark is determined by the dimensions involved in construction. These dimensions are as outlined below:
15And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. 16A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. The dimensions as indicated do indeed make a box shape and this has been tested and found to be extremely stable for the job. The issue of finding the remains does not relate in any case to the shape. The issue is finding any remains at all. Since Ararat is volcanic, a number of things are possible, apart from the antiquity of the remains, or their being re-used for construction purposes post-flood. Volcanic material could have covered it, or a rockfall. It could also be buried in ice and snow, in which case a melt would be necessary to uncover it, if there are any remains left to be uncovered. In relation to the shape, it is not as though there are lots of remains there and they can't decide which it the right one. As far as I am aware, the only hard evidence is a piece of wood found high up on a glacier. Quite a number of people have claimed to have seen it over the years but no conclusive evidence has been found. Over recent years the mountain has been inaccessible due to terrorists being present on it.
Is there a bible trivial pursuit junior edition?
There was going to be one, but the only useful question was:
Q. Is there a god?
A. No.
So they decided not to make it.
Edit: Is that supposed to be clever?
Which came first noah and the ark or abraham and the covenant?
Noah's Ark.
Abraham was born ten generations (about 350 years) after Noah, coming through the line of Noah's son Shem(Genesis 11:10-28).

When Noah and his family left the ark what did they do?
After Noah and his family left the ark, Noah built an alter where he offered burnt offerings to God. Then he and his family did as God told them ~ to " be fruitful and multiply; spread out over the earth and multiply on it." (Gen 8:7 HSBC).
Noah was the first man to build a vinyard before he died at the ripe old age of 950.
(Noah's life is described in the Bible in the book of Genesis, chapters 5-9.)
Is the story Noah and the Ark from Exodus?
No, it's still in Genesis. Exodus is the book about Moses.
How does Noah's ark prefigure baptism?
An unbiased and reasonable person would say that Noah's Ark does not and could not prefigure baptism. However, Burton L. Mack (Who Wrote the New Testament) tells how with a little ingenuity, one can come up with any comparisons between the Old Testament and the New Testament that one wishes. There is a trick that Mack sees happen all the time in the classrooms of the School of Theology at Claremont and which seems to come naturally when studying the Bible. One can ask any question of the Bible and get some kind of answer. At first the study of a text may not seem to support the answer one hopes to find in the Bible, but with a little ingenuity, one can set up the comparison again with other emphases and make the answer come out right. This is how to make Noah's Ark appear to prefigure baptism.
A NT perspective:"Prefigure" is the wrong word to apply to Noah's ark and baptism. When the two are contrasted in 1 Peter 3:20, 21, the apostle teaches that baptism is an "antitype" (NKJV) of the saving of Noah and his family, which makes perfect sense. In the flood, Noah and his family were saved because the ark kept them OUT of the water. In baptism, one is plunged INTO the water. Reverse scenario. "Antitype."
The NIV also says that "this [flood] water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also." How can that be so? Everyone outside the ark perished in the flood!
So does the carnal person of sin, in baptism!
Romans 6:3, 4 - Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.[NKJV]
Is the noah's ark ride still in blackpool pleasure beach?
Yes It is but acts as the ticket and security centre. The ride is no longer in use.
According to an ancient tradition, Noah apportioned the known world to his three sons, giving Africa to Ham, Europe to Japheth, and Western Asia to Shem.
What is the difference between a boat and an ark?
An ARK (Heb: tevah′) is a rectangular CHESTLIKE vessel with a flat bottom. In the case of Noah's Ark, it needed only to float, stay balanced, and store alot of cargo.(Genesis 6:14-16) Other examples of this in the Bible are: The Ark (or CHEST) used by Moses' mother when she put him in the Nile River (Exodus 2:2-4), and The Ark of the Covenant, which was a sacred CHEST holding the stone tablets, a jar of manna and Aaron's branch (Exodus 25:10, 11)(Hebrews 9:4)
A BOAT generally has sharp bow to cut through the water and some form of steering to direct it's course, power source to move it and deck area, none of which was needed on Noah's Ark.
Who was Noah and why did he carry many animals in his ark?
One thought:
Noah was born nine generations after Adam(Genesis 5:3-29), and, according to the Bible, he "... was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God". (Genesis 6:9)(Genesis 7:1)
He carried animals on his ark, because he was told by God to do so(Genesis 6:22), in order to preserve them alive when God brought a flood to destroy wicked humans (Genesis 6:5-7)(Genesis 6:13-20).
It doesn't.
Personally, I think it was flooded just long enough to kill everybody. Noah probably stayed on the ark longer doing many thing to preparing to re-populate the Earth. Not a task many would shy away from.
Noah's wife this is referenced in the book of Jubilees.

Which bloodline of Noah's sons did abimelech come from?
ABIMELECH = The name of two kings of Philistia; the first was a contemporary of Abraham, the second, probably son of the former, was king in the days of Isaac. It is quite possible that Abimelech was the royal title rather than the personal name, since in the title of Ps 34 we find it applied to the king of Gath, elsewhere known by his personal name, Achish (1 Sam 27:2,3). Shortly after the destruction of Sodom Abraham journeyed with his herds and flocks into the extreme Southeast country of Israel (Gen 20). While sojourning at Gerar, the city of Abimelech, king of the Philistine country, he made believe that Sarah was his sister (Gen 20:2), and Abimelech took her, intending to make her one of his wives. But God rebuked him in a dream, besides sending barrenness on the women of his household (Gen 20:3,17). After Abimelech had reproved Abraham most justly for the deception, he dealt generously with him, loading him with presents and granting him the liberty of the land (Gen 20:14,15). When contention had arisen between the servants of the two men over the wells of water the two men made a covenant at a well, which took its name, Beersheba, from this fact of covenantmaking (Gen 21:31,32).
Constructing the ark, as described in the Bible, would probably not have been impossible, although difficult. A Flood that covered the whole earth and the mountains would be impossible - there is just not that much water. And finding two of every species, large and small, then fitting them into such a small boat would be impossible. What is more possible is that the legend of a great Flood was a folk memory of the inundation of the Black Sea in 5200 BCE, a view held by some scholars.
16A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
The Bible does not give a full and complete blueprint of every single detail of the ark. The window dimensions are scanty. It has simply been assumed, quite reasonably, that this single window ran the full length of the ark. Hot air rises. It has also been assumed, also quite reasonably that the full length window ran along both sides. Thus, when the wind blew, as it did, foul air would have been drawn out and replaced by fresh.
Wouldn't the animals on Noah's ark get sick from disease?
That depends on divine intervention. On the other hand, if animals did not carry every species of virus, bacteria and parasite onto the Ark, those germs would not have survived, would they? Lack of exercise over an entire year should also have created health problems for many animals. Bigger problems are things like starvation - how do you feed a pair of lions for a whole year? How do you feed a pair of hungry hippos or elephants for a whole year? And how do you feed them for years to come, until the plants or animals on which they feed have multiplied and spread?
Mother of Noah wife of Lamech?
There were two Lamechs:
1. Lamech in Genesis 4 (also the first polygamist mentioned in the Bible) had two wives: Ada and Tselah. He is known for his "Song of the Sword".
2. Lamech in Genesis 5 was the father of Noah and son of Methuselah. His wife's name is not mentioned in the Bible.
