For the upcoming season (2010-2011) Randy Ferbey from Edmonton, AB is teaming up with Brad Gushue and his team (Mark Nichols, Ryan Fry) to compete in the cash circuit and try for the Brier. It's unknown whether or not they will be eligible to compete - If the rink can represent Newfoundland and Labrador, with an Albertan on the team, in the Canadian championships. Ferbey will call the game and throw third rocks. Gushue will throw last stones - similar to what he did in Turin. Mark Nicholas will play second, and Ryan Fry lead.
The current Ferbey rink (Randy Ferbey, David Nedohin, Scott Pfeifer, Marcel Rocque) will play for the last time together in Dawson Creek, BC at the Grand Slam of Curling: Grey Power Players' Championship (Presented by Capital One). The event will begin April 13 and end on April 18.
Nedohin, Pfeifer and Rocque are planing to take a years break from the competitive circuit.
Can you sweep behind the curling rock?
You can, but it's uncommon.
There are no rules against the number of sweepers who can sweep a rock at any given time, so in some cases when a rock really needs sweeping it's possible that all four players on the team will be sweeping it. There are a couple of reasons why it's not entirely practical, though. It's hard to maneuver all of those brooms and bodies in front of a rock while staying close enough for the sweeping to be effective, and the shooter's job is really to keep a close view from behind of the shot's line and weight in order to call the sweepers on or off.
Do teams have to bring their own curling stones to the Olympics?
The curling stones used in the Olympics are provided by the Olympics to ensure equaility between the teams.
In addition, each set of stones remained on the same sheet for the duration of the qualification rounds. This evened out any advantage or disadvantage of stone variation, as all teams played on all four sheets and with both sets of stones on each sheet during the early rounds of the competition.
In medal round games, teams can select their 8 stones from any of the stones on any sheet of ice.

Are you supposed to play curling outside or inside?
Nowadays, curling is almost always played indoors on artificial ice surfaces either at curling clubs or in larger arenas for tournaments.
However, the origins of the game are outdoors, with the game originating on frozen lakes. Today, there are still some games played in the traditional manner outdoors and a few novelty events played outside, but for the most part professional curling has entirely moved indoors.
What is the maximum number of points a team can get in an end in curling?
8. Each team has 8 rocks, so if Team A has all of its rocks at least touching part of the house (the "target" area) and Team B has none, then Team A will score 8 in that end. This is called an "eight-ender," and is sort of like bowling a 300--it doesn't happen very often.
