User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Oranges were sold by "women of ill repute" in the globe. Purchasing one was a method of purchasing a sexual favor. Hence, their appearance in Much Ado About Nothing has a little more connotation to it than you might otherwise think.

Additionally, an article published on the topic, "Accidental Shakespeare" by Yates, addresses the topic widely from a New Historicist point of view, the currently vogue method of Shakespeare scholarship.

Why is oranges called blood oranges?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Blood orange juice is a type of fruit juice made from blood oranges (Citrus sinensis). Blood oranges are a unique variety of oranges with a deep red or crimson-colored flesh, which sets them apart from regular oranges that have a typical orange color. The red color of the flesh comes from the presence of a pigment called anthocyanin.

The juice extracted from blood oranges has a distinct and vibrant red hue, which can range from a deep red to a light pinkish color. It is slightly sweeter and less acidic than juice from regular oranges, with a unique flavor that can be described as a combination of citrusy and berry-like notes.

Blood orange juice is commonly consumed as a refreshing and flavorful beverage on its own, or it can be used as an ingredient in various culinary applications. It is often used in cocktails, smoothies, sorbets, desserts, and as a flavor enhancer in sauces or dressings.

Apart from being delicious and visually appealing, blood orange juice, like other citrus juices, is a good source of vitamin C and other essential nutrients, providing health benefits such as boosting the immune system and promoting overall well-being

The banana decomposes more readily because it is mainly composed of sugars. While the peel is more fibrous and is designed to withstand the elements. The main purpose of a banana is to deliver seeds to the ground and the only way it can do so is to decompose fast so the seeds(which have been bred out of the banana you currently eat) can germinate.

If anyone is curious... I found it and the answers is: Yes, oranges are really blue. The color we see any object, is the color that is not absorbed by the object. It is the color that it reflects ( in essence rejects) The color we see is not truly a part of the object, any more than an object that we see in a mirror is part of the mirror. The true color is the color the object absorbs and is the contrast of the color seen. Therefore oranges are blue (acttally bluish green :)) Grass is not green it is orange etc etc...
