There is a misconception that some players use frozen paintballs to hurt more, but in reality, they hurt about the same, because when the gelatin shell is frozen, and it generally warms up by game time, it becomes brittle and breaks easily, so unless someone literally takes paint out of an industrial freezer and shoots it at you, you will be fine.

You cannot build a paintball tank. It is dangerous to even try, because if your tank does hold the pressure, it will explode and you will most likely be killed. Tanks are only $30 dollars, and any material that could hold it, plus the cost of a valve will be more expensive.

It actually will depend on the paintball gun you have. Typical markers do not need a cartridge, but a hopper (the thing on the top of the gun to feed in paintballs). Markers like the Tippmann TPX and the Kingmann Chaser and Eraser definitely need cartridge to hold the paintballs sense they are pistols.

Technically there is no age limit, but it's recommended that the participants be at least 7 years of age. Some fields enforce an age limit, some don't, call ahead to check there policies and rules.

You don't take the seal off the 12 gram CO2 cartridge. You put it in the gun and screw the pressure plate under the cartridge all the way up until you hear it puncture the end of the cartridge. There are 4 primary types of triggers. Mechanical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic and electro-pneumatic.

The advantage of a Mechanical trigger is cost. These markers typically run on CO2 and cost far less. These guns usually have a very limited firing rate.

The electro-mechanical uses a much lighter trigger pull allowing a mechanical gun to achieve a much higher firing rate. These cost more than the mechanical but they function much the same.

Pneumatic triggers use a valve and the air from your tank to control the action of the marker. These are typically known as auto-cocker type markers. These can sometimes be unreliable but they are known to have a "smooth" feel to their firing.

Electro-pneumatic triggers use a circuit board to control the full action of cocking and firing the marker. These markers are known to be able to achieve the highest firing rates and are arguably the most accurate. There are a broad range of markers across a broad price range that fit into this category. most mid to higher end require the use of nitrogen/compressed air tanks instead of CO2.

It hurts as much as a thick rubber band snap to the neck, but wherever you get hit. If you are wearing at least one layer of clothing, the pain is easily bearable. foam protectors and heavy clothing, while protective, make you slow and loud, and will get you labeled a "wussy."

i would say that there is no definite answer in a number of shots.

but i would say that if you shoot about 50-150 paint balls in a 30:00 - 45:00 minute round i would say you would get about 2 to 4 rounds.

Some times it is fitted to reduce recoil in large cal. weapons like the Barretta M107, with such a large cal. (50 cal.) the recoil can just break your bones.

For the most part yes but still can be a gray area. In order to transport it by car you must have an empty tank, and have it, the marker and paint separate. As always, don't use it in public areas that are not designated paintball fields.

Flatline Barrel- This barrel has a curved inner tube that gives the paintball backspin to reduce it's "drop" in flight and increase distance. It's important to know that this barrel has a reputation for being finicky and generally requires the use of premium paint (the curved tube spins the ball by using a coating of ultra fine sand which can shred cheap paint). It can work well if you take the time to adjust it, clean it and use good paint.

It depends. In tournaments, they are usually teams of 3, 5 or 10 people. In recreational play there is really no specified number of people per team, normally 5-12 people is average. In some scenario games there can be hundreds of people per team.

Well, there really isn't an answer to how popular paintball is. I play myself and it is one of the fastest growing extreme sports today! Chances are if you live i an urban area, than there will probably be a field or store less that an hour away. It already is huge, and I think someday there will even be Olympic paintball...

Paintball guns fire spherical paint-filled balls by application of short bursts of rapidly expanding CO2 (Carbondioxide) gas. Upon disegage of the trigger mechanism, a slide is forced forward by means of a coil under tension, thus loading the paintball into the barrel. At it's final position, the slide opens a valve enabling the flow of gas. The gas forces the paintball down the barrel and accelarates it up to a speed of more or less 300 fps upon exit of the barrel. The backpressure of the shot causes the slide to return to it's original position, loading another paintball and engaging the trigger.
