The Wards Western Field model 5 is the same as the (Sears) JC Higgins model 85, both of which are the MAPF (La Manufacture d'Armes des Pyrénées Françaises, later Manufacture des Pyrénées - Hendaye) Unique model D2, also known as Le Corsair, which entered production in the mid-1950s. The model D came in varying barrel lengths and were named D1 through D6, depending on barrel length. Unique went out of business about 2005.

Parts can be obtained from Numrich and Bob's Gun Shop , and replacement grips specifically from Vintage Gun Grips . And, of course, parts show up on the usual firearms auction sites, Gunbroker and Auction Arms, and sometimes on eBay (there are no firearms on eBay, but gun parts are sold on it).

Check under all three names -- sellers do not always list all available parts under all the names.

you use a Chronograph (Chrono for short) they measure the FPS as a paintball flies away, a field will always have them and you can buy one for home use if you want

It is a low quality, cheap starter marker. It shoots, and that's about it.

As long as you wear a mask there is no chance of a death...... however being shot in the eye has a chance to cause brain damage, and cause enough trauma to kill.

That being said, If you wear your mask and play safely, Paintball is less dangerous than Football, hockey, jogging, fishing, swimming, or even Bowling.

a 9oz tank will most likely only shoot 200-300 rounds. There are though, many different variables to take into mind. This includes weather, the marker, and paint.

well a 3.2 ounce shoots close to 300 so a 9 ounce would probably shoot 600+ but since many types of markers are different it would determine. ipersonally have a tippman and it saves alot

Yes! They have the same threads. but the tippmann 98 custom platinum is not as good as the original if i were u i would ge rid of the thing...its not that it is bad it just chops and is not built as good as the tippmann 98 custom.

Vandalism isn't always a felony, plus shooting a paintball gun isn't necessarily illegal. It depends on the circumstances.

Almost any color you want. Just remember that there are two colors to think about when looking at paintballs: shell, and fill. The shell color is the color on the outside. These range from one color to two colors, to star patterns. the fill color is the color it splatters. These range from the common oranges and yellows to white,blue and purple. Paintballs are not allowed to have red or pink fill or a black shell.

The majority of hoppers have a standard neck, and most feednecks (where they attach) are adjustable. The only large difference in sizing are the Tippmann A5 hoppers, which are many inches across, to feed the cyclone feed, and .50 hoppers, which cannot fit standard paintballs.

Any round pipe can shoot darts that fit inside it. I would not use it as a dart gun however.

The ideal lenght is between 10 and 14 inches, however, longer and shorter barrels do have advantages. Barrel Porting, diameter and material will be disregarded for the sake of this explanation. 10-14 is the tested ideal lengh, with enough time to accelerate to 300 fps, but short enough not to waste air. A short (1 inch to 8 inch) barrel will lack the time needed to gain speed before exiting the barrel, and may fire nearly 30-70 FPS lower and decreasing accuracy. However If you play on an inside close course, with buildings, a short barrel will allow you to maneuver better. A long (16-21 inch) barrel will decrease velocity, will be cumbersome, and will be less accurate while moving. If the long barrel is supported by a post or bipod, it will be more accurate then medium lenght barrels

The optimal size for paintball barrels is roughly 10-14 inches. Anything less tends to release the ball before it has a chance to accelerate. Anything more can use up too much gas, cause inaccuracy if not held completely still. A good "sniper" could use a 16-18 inch barrel, but ONLY if it is held still, with a bi-pod, in the prone position. Trying to run around with a long barrel (16-21 inches) is not only difficult to maneuver, but is actually less accurate when moving, or standing and shooting.

It depends on what you are comparing it with.

Better control of the bore of your barrel can help accuracy and consistency. You will also make your marker more efficient and be able to get more shots out of the same size tank. Typically you find a barrel size based on the size of the paint you shoot most often. Barrel kits come with multiple sizes to allow you to change the size of the bore on a case by case basis.

YES! my piece of land is about an acre and there is a house on it.

Generally speaking yes, but a piece of land may not be big enough even if its 10 acres or it may be big enough if only 15 feet by 35 feet! It all depends on the ZONING of the land. SFR, or Single Family Residence zones can be high density or low density. The higher the density, the more units can be stuffed onto a certain square footage.

Ive seen 40 acre parcels that cant be built on because the zone required 120 acres.

All paintball guns hurt the same if they're shooting at the required 300 fps. Which amounts to the equivalent of being popped with a rubber band at about 1-15 feet. Anything closer than this will feel more like a pinch with pliers until it subsides to a throb, and anything past 20 or so feet will hardly even sting. (keep in mind I've been playing for 6 years now so my view on this may be a little distorted.)

To refill a paintball tank, you must first go to a paintball field or store with a paintball air compressor. You can't refill them with just any home depot compressor, it takes serious pressure to fill these tanks. Find the fill station with the same pressure as your tank (3000, 4500 or 5000 psi) and hook up the fill hose to the fill nipple on the side of the tank while it is attached to your gun. Then press the lever or button in until the gauge on your tank or on the filler is at the correct pressure and release. Then unhook the fill hose.
