How do you revive my dying Palm Trees?
The first thing you must do is find out what is wrong with the palm tree. Identify what kind of palm tree it is and determine nutrient diffienciencies. Most common is manganese shortage. Then fertilize te palm with the proper nutrient.
Will you kill a palm tree if you cut the top off?
Yes you could, but most palm trees have a solitary trunk, and the central crown has the only point that it can grow from. They're very different to other types of tree, which would respond to pruning.
If it's a clump forming palm, and most of them are n't, then it may resprout from the base. If you can edit your question with the type of palm that you've got, I can give you more accurate information.
2days later, notice that you haven't managed to identify which particular Palm tree you have - above info applies- in general Palms have their only growing point in the central top part of their growth and pruning this off kills their potential for growth.
Are hearts of palm really a heart of a Palm tree?
Answer
Depends on what you mean by "heart".
Palms don't have hearts, the way humans and many animals have hearts. There's no pumping muscle deep in the trunk. But palms do have a core, a part inside that's softer and more edible than the rest of the tree, which for some reason became known as the heart.
Answer
Well,
Palm trees do have hearts and back in the days, Florida settlers used to live off the cabbage palm tree, also known as the Sable Palmetto. They used to make the heart of the Cabbage Palm into a delicious stew. To this day, the Cabbage Palm Tree is eaten in rural areas of Southern and Northern Florida. I placed a Link below talking more about the heart of palms and the history behind the heart of a palm tree.

Water the tree.Ho Ho Ho
DO NOT WATER IT! Apply a generous spraying of Fungicide, allow it to dry, then add some more the next day. It could be too late if the fungus has already eaten into the stem tissue of the plant. You can purchase safe, household Fungicide at your local Garden Center.

You can sell it to anyone. Just trim it up nicely (only the lower half of the branches or fronds). If you trim above this, it will injure the tree. Take a nice picture and list it on your local Craigslist as "You dig and it's yours." If you did a good jobtrimming it and took a nice picture, it'll be gone in no time. Alternatively, you can also just keep the palm! You may want after seeing how much better it looks nice and trimmed up!
My Pintail Palm appears to dying. The tree is rich soil planted within strong surroundingfoliage and no other plant shows the same appearance. It stands about 6' tall and the base is about 36" in dia. Soil is moist not wet and the tree just started showing signs. In the middle of the tree, where the new growth comes from the center is really wet and the leaves turn brown before reaching full maturity. I can pull the new growth right out without any strain or effort. The last time I removed a leaf strand, small beige looking worms and small looking mites where attached to the bottom of removed leaf. This tree has survived "Katrina, kids running into with lawn mowers, searing heat. Planted solid for 2 yrs. and now this. Help.
