Is a resale shop the same as a pawn shop?

There is a difference between resale shops and pawn shops even though they are alot of times both in the stores title. At a resale shop you are selling your belongings to the shop, very cheap, so they can resale it. At a pawn shop you can bring in an item of value and the pawn shop will pay you for it and hold it until a certain time and you can get it back if you pay back the amount plus interest. If you do not get it back within the amount of time granted, the store can sell it.

How does a pawn shop work?

Basically you take something you own to the pawn shop. They give you money for you're item and a ticket and also tell you a time limit. Now if you want to item back you can take the ticket back and pay the money and get it back, kind of like a loan. If you don't buy it back before the time limit runs out then they'll sell your item to get the money back.

It depends on what the watch is worth (that is, its market value it its current condition), and especially on what the pawnbroker thinks he would be able to resell it for and if he believes there is an active demand for that type of item or not.

Really, the only way to know what you would get paid for any given item is to take it in and see what they offer.

Do pawn shops buy broken televisions?

Hello,

Yes,,, pawn shops do pawn TV's. However most pawn shops today will only buy, sell and loan on digital TV's, which is basically all TV's made within the last 6 to 7 years. This will, in most cases, rule out tube TV's, although there are digital tube TV's that were made, but they will not be worth much. Basically TV's are much like computers in that they are constantly evolving so the value of TV's, older to newer as well as size, will vary. Most pawn shops will buy, sell and loan on all digital TV"s though.

Pawn1st Pawn & Title Loan Centers

I'm going to offer a bit more insight here. When you want to pawn a TV one thing that I've found of interest is that most pawn shops will decline a TV which does not have a remote control. Seemed like an odd rule to me when I first bought a pawn shop. But, really, who has a TV without a remote? Generally the only ones that come in without a remote are stolen. So, if you are trying to pawn a TV -- don't forget the remote. The TV will look stolen a bit more stolen unless you have the remote. It also helps to have the stand or the wall mounting bracket.

What do pawnbrokers do?

,

As a Pawnbroker you play many rolls and where many hats. For the most part you are a salesman, a jeweler, a gun dealer, an appraiser of everything and a customer service professional. There are many other aspects besides those but these are the main ones. If you are referring to a transaction,,, basically a pawnbroker determines the value of an item, whether it be a radio, a diamond ring, or a motorcycle. The amount of cash offered is based off of that value. Remember there is always room to barter
