Does paxil work?

do not take Paxil it causes major weight gain. It affects the Hypothalmus (if I spelled that right), so it will also affect your sex drive aka you will have none. I took it for a year and gained 30 pounds I was 120 and went up to 150. I was an athlete before and it made me tired and not care about things. I had no guilt. Lexapro is a better choice or take citalopram the generic. All cause drowsiness so take at night before you go to sleep. That will stop your anxiety attacks at night, nightmares, and over thinking. Been on it for over 6 years. With therapy, exercise, and a healthy environment it works well. Good Luck

Will Paxil 10mg cause a seizure in a 12 year old?

Quote from the Related Link: "A very small percentage of patients given Paxil in trials developed seizures." If your child has had a seizure, you need to call the child's doctor immediately and let them know. DO NOT suddenly take your child off of Paxil without a doctor's instructions. Your child's doctor may want to taper the dosage your child takes, meaning reduce it gradually, then take the child off of Paxil completely. Suddently stopping it without a doctor's advice to do so can result in serious withdrawal symptoms. See the Related Link entitled "Quitpaxil: paxil withdrawal symptons" for a list of the withdrawal symptoms.
