That depends on what you are scared of. If it is something you can't do anything about, sometimes it is just better to forget all about it and think of happy stuff.
If it is something that you *can* do something about, then you should. You should either face your fear (if it is something important that you need to do) and get it over with, or (if it is something stupid or dangerous), you should trust your fear and your logic, and walk away.

Why are people afraid of stinky feet?
Some people have highly active sweat glands in their feet. A more common problem is wearing shoes with thick insoles without socks. The moisture causes odor in the shoes. Also it helps to actually wash your feet in the shower as opposed to allow the dirty water from your body to do the job by itself. Their are also bacteria, known as Micro-coccus sedentarius, living on your feet which feed on the sweat in which your feet produce. The smell come from the excretion, organic acids, that they leave on your foot. The darkness of your shoe with the sweatiness of your foot cause the bacteria to have some sort of feeding frenzy. then when the bacteria dies it produces ammonia which is then inside your shoe.
Another answer
The feet stink because the sweat has little chance to evaporate because of the socks and shoes which wrap them. Most shoes do not have holes which allow the moisture to evaporate and the smell from the uratic acid builds up and the odor occurs. If you wear wool socks, even in the summer will help in the evaporation or absorption of the moisture.
