There are 6 Types of Poker games:
1. Texas Hold 'Em Played in the World Series of Poker, Texas Hold 'Em is easily the most popular poker game in America today. In Texas Hold 'Em, players are dealt two "pocket" or "hole cards" then wait for 5 community cards to be revealed. Betting takes place in four rounds: once after the hole cards are dealt, once after the first three community cards are revealed (referred to as "the flop"), once after the fourth community card is revealed ("the turn") and lastly after the fifth community card is flipped ("the river"). Players must make their best hands with any combination of 5 cards (their hole cards and the communal).
2. Omaha Omaha is another type of Hold 'Em that can be played by 2-10 players at a time. Like Texas Hold 'Em, there are four rounds of betting, but unlike that version, each player is dealt four hole cards and the five community cards are immediately revealed. Players must make their best 5-card hands from two of their hole cards and three of the common.
3. 7-Card Stud In 7-Card Stud, each player is dealt 7 cards, three down and four up. Players must make best possible 5-card hand from their 7.
4. 5-Card Draw Each player is dealt 5 cards, but on the initial go around, the player may choose to trade in up to 3 of them.
5. High / Low Chicago This stud game can be played for the highest hand or the lowest. In High Chicago, the player with the highest spade face-down wins half the pot. In Low Chicago, the player with the lowest spade face-down wins half the pot. The other half of the pot is won by the player with the best hand. If someone, however, has the best hand and the winning spade (high or low, depending on version), that player will win the entire pot. This game can be added to, and played simultaneously with, many other poker variations.
6. Follow the Queen This is a 7-card stud poker game in which the wild card is designated to be the next exposed card after a queen is flipped. If no queens are flipped, there are no wild cards that hand.

This is a situation where the pot will not be split. In poker the highest combination of 5 cards wins the pot. In this case the hand of player A is "Ac Tc 9c 7c 5c". The hand of player B is "Ac Tc 8c 7c 4c".
As you can see in this situation, there are 5 clubs on the board (table), yet it is not a split pot as player A has the highest value in cards in his flush.
Situation 2 (No Limit Hold'em; Limit Hold'em):
2 players hold Ac and Kd & Ks and Jc
The board shows 8h 9h 2h Ah Kh. (5 hearts on the board).
Like you can see here, there are 5 hearts on the board. None of the other players has a heart, therefore making the cards on the board the highest possible 5 card combination. In this situation the pot will be split as they hold a 5 card combination of the same value.
Following situation is not in No limit hold'em etc, but on Omaha which might be irrelevant to your question, however it is good to know this too.
Situation 3 (Pot Limit Omaha; No limit Omaha; Limit Omaha)
2 players hold Jc 9s As Ac and Kd Ks Qd Ad.
The board shows Ah Jh 3h 5h 9h. (5 hearts on the board)
As you can see, no player holds a heart, but due to Omaha having different rules (You must use 2 cards out of your hand) other combinations are possible. The hand with the highest value here is player A holding "As Ac Ah Jc Jh", A full house. Against Player B holding "Kd Ks Ad Ah 9h", 2 pair. Here the pot will not get split because neither player holds 2 hearts because neither player can claim 5 board cards.
Who wins ifTwo people have three of a kind and one of them also has two pair?
Only five cards are used to make up a hand. you cannot have three of a kind and two pairs in the same hand. You either have a full house (three of a kind and a pair), three of a kind, or two pair. The full house beats a three of a kind and the three of a kind beats two pair. If two players have three of a kind, the highest three of a kind wins.
