Prime Numbers

There are lots of numbers which are neither. For example, pi, -7, 0, 1, sqrt(7).

To find the prime factorization, start with any two factors of 24 and keep factoring the composite factors until all factors are prime.

Composite. All positive, whole numbers greater than five and ending in 0, 2, 4, 5, 6 or 8 are composite.

Prime factorization is where you take a number like 24 and make it into the prime numbers that multuply to make it. like this

The prime factorization of 24 is 2 x 2 x 2 x 3, or 2 cubed times 3. All you have to do is make the factor tree and think of two numbers that, multuplied, make the number before it until it's all prime numbers like I did.

2500 is a composite number. A prime number has exactly 2 factors, 1 and the number itself. All even numbers greater than 2 (numbers ending in 2, 4, 6, 8, or 0) are composites because they have more than 2 factors.

Even numbers are numbers which are multiples of 2 (they can be divided by 2). 40\2 = 20

This means that 40 is an even number.
