How does przewalski horse protect himself?

The Przewalski horse is one of the last true wild horses. They are mostly found in eastern Europe. For all wild horses there is safety in numbers. With numerous pairs of eyes and ears odds are good that someone will be alert to danger. A horse, being a "fight or flight" animal will usually pick flight. They will try to avoid a confrontation with a preditor. When they feel they have to fight they will use teeth, hooves both front and back and their considerable strenght.

Why is the Przewalski Horse endangered?

There are only about 2,000 przewalski's horses left in zoos, and there are only about 1,200 left i the wild. they are the last kind of truly wild horse, because there may be hundreds of breeds of wild horses out in the wild, but they were horses genetically bred by man then let go into the wild on accident or on purpose. all the other true wild horses made by nature died out thousands of years ago, now the only remaining breed is the przewalski's horse. they are being bred in captivity now because they are trying to get the breeds number back up, but very few of them are still wind today.

This species acually came from being extinct to being endangered. These wild horses were once hunted for their meat and has lost much of their natural habitat to grazing domestic animals. The last true wild horse was seen in 1968, and it may be extinct. Many of the remaining horses are found in zoos although they have lost some of their distinct features due to cross breeding and domestication. Some of these breeds were reintroduced into Mongolian national parks, and in 2005, the wild population was estimated at about 300 animals.

Is there any man cruelty done to the Przewalski horse?

The Przewalski's Horse is the last of the "wild" species of horses. The cause of their decline has been influenced by man at least in part, but they are not now, or have they ever been a domestic species. This might have helped them avoid some of the cruelty and abuse that many domestic animals seem to be saddled with. The Przewalski's Horses are listed as "critically endangered" with a population trend posted as "increasing" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, or the IUCN Red List. Man is responsible for hunting the Przewalski's Horse, restricting their grazing ranges to allow domestic livestock access to prime water, and foraging/grazing lands, as well as the destruction created by armed conflict in their ranges, and a general or overall habitat destruction. But, the Przewalski's Horse isn't treated any more cruelly than any other "critically endangered" wild species might be by humanity. After it's extinction from the wild, it has been reintroduced into two national parks in Mongolia, and although the program has some problems there is about 170 horses natural born between the two national parks.
