yes, but not too often in a light weight 38 revolver.
i don't actually see the answer to edit but there is not "significance" in the serial or meaning it's just a serial. There's a prefix on the model 700's starting in later half of the 70's do to the date code rolling over but other then that Remington doesn't put an meanings in them.
In the year 1890,as a model No.4 rolling block rifle.

If you are asking about the Remington 6.5 rem.mag round, then this cartridge takes large rifle/or large rifle magnum primers. The .223 Remington cartridge takes the small rifle primer. Both of these center fire primers differ in size and cannot be interchanged. The .223 Rem cartridge requires small rifle primers.
Not much Remington pretends that model never existed, woefull trigger assembly. I would be happy getting anything near or over 100 bucks for a 525 . Based on my own experience. I never had a rifle literaly fall apart on me before , and I take good care of them.
These can range in price from 95-250 dollars depending on the exact model(Rem 510,510A,510c,510P,or 510 smooth bore). If your rifle shows between 60%-90% of it,s original finish and a good bore.

The Remington model 722 rifles were made from 1948-1962.To get the exact year of production,Remington used a barrel date letter code which can be found just ahead of the receiver on the barrel. This will be a 2,or 3 letter code. Then go to Remington,s web site and find the letter code system and date your rifle to the correct year.I have 2 Remington model 722 rifles, one in 300Savage caliber and the other in .244 Rem.caliber and would not sell either one. They are wonderful and accurate rifles.
