How do you slow down an RC airplane without making the prop or engine smaller?

!

First of all, at idle, a larger prop will slow you down more than a smaller one - more drag. If you are talking about slowing down on approach, you might want to check to see if you the idle is too high. If not, try adding flaps to the trailing edges of the wings. These can be controlled with two extra servos. There are many designs on the internet you can look at. Flaps increase lift and drag, letting you fly slower, but may cause the model to pitch up or down.

Hope this helps!

What is a better RC car a buggy or a truck?

This depends on what you plan to do with it. If you plan to do all off-roading (or close to it) a Truck will probably work better if the terrain is difficult and requires it to be lifted of the ground. A trucks advantages don't transfer over to road tracks to well. They are also good if you have long grass.

An RC buggy is better if your doing a mixture of off road tracks, and road tracks. Buggy's sit rather close to the ground so cant go over large 'bumps'. They can easily do jumps though with a reasonably smooth surface. Long grass will stop them in there tracks though (in fact it doesn't have to be so long because there close to the ground). There advantages do cross over to a road track better than trucks though.

I like Buggy's better for most tasks.

What is the difference between petrol and nitro in an RC car?

Petrol is explosive and harmful were as nitro is the safer and cheaper is is better for children drivers lol

petrol RC cars are usually 1/5, or bigger scale than nitro ones which are usually like 1/10

------

The specific mixture of the fuel is what makes them different. The main ingredients of nitro fuel are nitromethane, methanol, and synthetic oil or castor, plus other minor additives. Petrol or gasoline, on the other hand, Petrol, is a more common and accessible one that you can buy at the nearest gas or petrol station. It's transparent liquid derived from petroleum.

You can read and understand more about nitro fuel at this link http://www.rcmodelswiz.co.uk/users-guide-to-rc-nitro-fuel.

Hope that helps answer you question.

What do the numbers on an RC plane prop mean?

What do the numbers mean? The first number is the prop diameter. The second number is the prop pitch. This is the theoretical distance that the prop would move forward if rotated one revolution. If you were to mount your prop on a shaft and submerse it in jello, you could see this in action... A 10x6 prop is 10" in diameter, and in theory, the prop will move forward 6" in one revolution. The pitch can be thought of similar to the transmission in your car. A low pitch (like on a 10x4) is like low gear on your car--lower speed, but more power. A high pitch is more like a high gear--higher speed, but it takes longer to get to top speed, and you may lose power on the verticals.
