Can bleach kill ringworms?

Yes, it can. It is safer for your skin to use the more orthodox treatments, like lotrimin and other creams, but bleach does it quicker. There is also, however, a big risk of leaving a scar where the ringworm used to be if you leave it on too long.

I used all of the creams and pills from my doctor for a month, and nothing worked and it spread terribly all over my back and chest. I started day 1 with a 50-50 bleach solution being careful not to cover more area than necessary (it will sting), and washed it off after 5 min. I then went to a 6-1 bleach and water mix with lotrimin spray after my skin dried for four more days twice a day (also stings). This killed the infection in it's tracks. Just be prepared for dry and itching skin that you cannot scratch during the healing process.

When and where ringworm was first recorded and who identified ringworm?

ringworm was discovered when a jewish pesant in a village at Baczka, a fertile district of southern Hungary. He received his first instruction in secular knowledge from a medical student who worked as a substitute teacher in Kis-Kér and lodged in Gruby's father's home. In 1824 or 1825 he left Kis-Kér to seek further education in Pest.

His early years had been marked by great poverty, hardship, and prejudice. However, his great talent and determined pursuit of his aim enabled him to succeed in completing his secondary studies at the Piarist Gymnasium in Pest. In 1828 Gruby, then in the fifth year of his studies, went to Vienna to study medicine. He was a hard-working student and particularly concerned himself with anatomy under Christian Joseph Berres (1796-1844), professor of gross macroscopic anatomy. He graduated on August 5, 1839.

As a Jew Gruby had difficulties in finding an education position in surgery following his graduation. He succeeded, however, because of support from Joseph Freiherr von Wattmann-Maelcamp-Beaulieu (1789-1866), a famous surgeon. Gruby then turned to microscopy, which at the time was no science of repute in Wien. He is reported to have built himself an accurate clock and a microscope which was, for the time, an excellent instrument. HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL IT TOOK ME A WHILE! 2 hrs

Can you use acetone to kill ringworm?

Yes it can be used to kill Ringworm. In a combination with ringworm creams like Lamisil Ultra or similar, rub the acetone on your skin and while it's drying rub the cream on top. The acetone removes fat from substances and will also cause anything mixed with it to soak into the skin. In as little as 5 days you will notice any severe cases shrink and any small cases go back to normal skin; it is recommended you use the acetone & cream trick only while the redness is visible then switch to just the post treatment of ringworm cream. A more effective method is to shower, perform this mix trick then wait. As a nice wrap up, put clear top coat nail polish on, and wear it until your next shower. You will see the ringworm fade a lot faster and it will not spread as fast.

You'll have to wait till it starts itching. I've been told smokers are less likely to get them because they can't feed off anything containing nicotine. Foot medications for athletes feet will get it away if not to severe.

Is there a connection between head lice and ringworm?

Head lice and ringworm are not directly connected, as they are caused by different organisms. Head lice are parasitic insects that infest the scalp, while ringworm is a fungal infection that affects the skin. Both conditions can cause itching and discomfort, but they require different treatments. Maintaining good hygiene and avoiding close contact with infected individuals can help prevent both infestations.

Could bowel movements that smell like moth balls and facial breakouts that appear like ringworm and take a long time to go away be linked?

Interesting that you ask this. I have searched for years to answers about why my bowel movements smell like mothballs. I had a lot of crazy symptoms going on and finally ended up testing positive for Lyme Disease. I always wondered if there was a relation between the Lyme Disease and this smell. One thing I have found in my research is that sinus issues are a possible culprit for a moth ball smell, whether it be in your digestive tract or in your breath. I definitely found the Lyme has given me some horrible sinus issues, so it could very well be that.

Cat has a bald spot on back of neck 3 on head vet said it wasnt ringworm and scraping came back neg hair around spots pulls out easily white scabs from occassional scratching what could this be?

Has he been checked for fleas?

It could also be an allergy.

Many animals are allergic to corn. Check the labels on the food. Dry foods are especially likely to have grains in them.

Consider adding Brewer's Yeast from the health food store to the new dry food which doesn't have corn. (This should be a gradual switch: half and half, then reduce the old food, then add the Brewer's Yeast a little at a time.) The B vitamins in the Brewer's Yeast will fill nutrional gaps caused by food allergies.

Add more canned food to the cats diet. It is rarer for a cat to develop an allergy to canned foods. Make sure the water bowl is clean and fresh.

You should see improvement by two weeks of the changes if there was an allergic reaction going on.
