What was the name of the person who invented roller coasters?
The oldest roller coasters are believed to be descended from the so-called "Russian Mountains," which were specially constructed hills of ice, located especially around Saint Petersburg.Built in the 17th century, the slides were built to a height of between 70 and 80 feet (24 m), consisted of a 50 degree drop, and were reinforced by wooden supports. "Russian mountains" remains the term for roller coasters in many languages. Some historians say the first real roller coaster was built under the orders of Russia's Catherine the Great in the Gardens of Oreinbaum in Saint Petersburg in the year 1784. Other historians believe that the first roller coaster was built by the French. The Les Montagnes Russes à Belleville (The Russian Mountains of Belleville) constructed in Paris in 1812 and the Promenades Aeriennes both featured wheeled cars securely locked to the track, guide rails to keep them on course, and higher speeds.
What is the average weight of a roller coaster car?
The weight of roller coaster carts varies greatly with the roller coaster style. On average, these carts can weight between 600 and about 1000 pounds each.
How soon after having a baby can you ride a roller coaster?

The chain lift at the beginning part of the ride lifts it up over the edge. Then with speed the train is basically on it's own. Not all roller coasters run on chain lifts. Some get launched like a sling shot such as Top Thrill dragster at Cedar Point. Some get lifted with an elevator like Millennium Force also at Cedar Point.
The roller coaster slows down with a magnetic part of the track. So that's mainly how roller coasters really work.
they use gravity=)
How much do roller coasters cost?
If you take a look at www.rcdb.com (Roller Coaster Database) it includes the prices of a few roller coasters around the world. Top Thrill Dragster, a 420 foot Accelerator Coaster designed by Intamin AG, cost Cedar Point $25 million. A much smaller roller coaster called Spongebob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge, being constructed in the Mall of America (set to open in March 2008) cost $2.9 million. It was designed by Gerstlauer Rides.
When was the first Roller Coaster invented?
The roller coaster is a popular amusement ride developed for amusement parks and modern theme parks. LaMarcus Adna Thompson patented the first coasters on January 20, 1885. In essence a specialized railroad system, a roller coaster consists of a track that rises in designed patterns, sometimes with one or more inversions (such as vertical loops) that turn the rider briefly upside down. The track does not necessarily have to be a complete circuit, as shuttle roller coasters exhibit. Most roller coasters have multiple cars in which passengers sit and are restrained. Two or more cars hooked together are called a train. Some roller coasters, notably Wild Mouse roller coasters, run with single cars

Why do we find roller coasters thrilling?
Those who love adrenaline rush enjoy rollercoasters the most. But for some...adrenaline rush is too much to handle. In conclusion, you find roller coasters enjoyable because you love the speed, and the adreneline rush!
Why does your body feel like its going up when roller coaster is going down?
The seat is moving downward and is no longer exerting the same upward force on your body. Gravity is pulling you down, but your body is falling at almost the same speed as you would if there was no roller coaster under you. You are nearly in "freefall" until the coaster turns back uphill.
The momentum that you receive from the moving car is almost entirely horizontal, but some fast coasters do impart a slight upward velocity to you if they suddenly turn downward.
Can you ride a roller coaster while being 3 months pregnant?
No! This is very risky. Some may disagree with me, but I know different. Anything that goes against the laws of nature, eg: extreme speeds, gravity defying, free falling, may have adverse if not fatal effects on the developing child. Wait until after the baby is born, then go. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Why do you have to show understanding and respect for the pregnant women?
Well if the woman is pregnant, and you're in a relationship or are a part of this matter, then she looks to you for help. She NEEDS love, respect, and care. She will experience pain, and go through an "emotional roller coaster". Please if you are part of why she is pregnant or she is asking for help, NO DUH HELP HERR!! but remember she's only going to be pregnant from
9- some months then it will all be over. Then, it is your love, caring, and responsiblity to make sure the baby grows with love, care, skill, tallent if so, strength, and good parents and more

Is the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland scary?
WHEE! I love Indiana, so I went on it like 50 times.
I don't want to spoil it for you, so don't read below if you don't want to find out!
First, before you ride, you have to walk, and walk, and walk, and walk...
Then, after walking, you enter this room, where people, like, wait until they can get on the ride. You watch a "safety" video which is narrated by Sallah. You watch little clips with him and others on the ride.
Someone eventully comes into the room and says, "Please do this, Blah Blah Blah," and you know.
They make you walk up some steps, and over here, and a few more turns and then you get into these little lines. They have automatic doors that will allow you to get in. (You may have to wait a while, but they make it go fast enough)
A worker blah blah blahs some more and than the ride starts. As you go in, a person thing that is supposed to be Indy (even though he looks like he is turning 99 tomorrow) warns you to be carefull and he appears to be holding back something behind some doors, so we have enough time to, "escape."
A couple of skulls and such and then you are off! It isn't the most fast ride in the universe though! I don't remember all of it, but you here the Raiders music most of the time, and you may want to wear a jacket because it gets cold!
You go over the river of "lava" that you see in Temple Of Doom, and then there is a huge snake that looks like it is about to kill you, and then you go into the tunnel where these darts shoot out (don't worry. they make the air noises and you will probably duck because of instinct." Finally you take a turn and see Indiana. I couldn't tell if he was "tied" up there or if he was holding on. It stops so people can "talk" to him, but don't get out!
Indy says a few things, and then you see the boulder. It's projected to look like it's about to hit you, but, Indy saves the day! You go down and then appear right back where you started! (With everybody looking at you, of course!)
This isn't a very very scary ride, but it is fun!
HAVE FUN IN DISNEY!!!
If you have a bad back or with someone who does don't go on this ride. I did and hurt the rest of the day.
Is Space Mountain scarier at Disneyland or Walt Disney World?
The Space Mountain in Disneyland is slightly scarier but it's easy compared to Expedition Everest.
Neither version of Space Mountain has loops or large drops, relying mostly on speed, turns, and small drops for thrills. Walt Disney World's ride experience is much bumpier than Disneyland's, which some people believe makes the ride scarier. However, some people find the smooth ride provides a scarier experience.
What is the tallest roller coaster ever?
Leap-The-Dips is the world's oldest operating wooden roller coaster and North America's last surviving side friction roller coaster. It is located at Lakemont Park in Altoona, Pennsylvania and was built in 1902 by the E. Joy Morris Company. Leap-the-Dips operated until 1985, when it closed due to disrepair. A fund-raising campaign led to a restoration starting in 1997 and a reopening on Memorial Day 1999. Although the ride is quite tame by today's standards, being only 41 ft (12.5 m) in height and having an average speed of 10 mph (16 km/h), many people still ride it. Several riders report that the rear wheels of cars were once able to leave the track at the crest of some dips. At one time there was a "twin" coaster called Leap the Dips at Mounds State Park in Anderson Indiana. This ride was installed around the great mound in 1908 and visitors said at the top of the ride you could see all the way down to the river. Due to lack of business, the amusement park started selling its equipment in the early 1920's. The Leap-The-Dips is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and in 1996 was designated a National Historic Landmark. It is also an American Coaster Enthusiasts Coaster Classic and Coaster Landmark
