They play both. Its dependant on the location and the type of club in their locality but both codes run excellent mini and youth programme

Well, not cheating per se, but kicking a loose ball would result in a 15-yard penalty for illegal kicking.

The only legal kicks are punts, placekicks and dropkicks, and they each are allowed only in certain circumstances.

rugby union was invented in 1823 by a 16 year old boy, William webb Ellis. He was playing a game of soccer when he suddenly picked up the ball and ran towards the opponets goal and that's how it formed.

Men tend to be stronger, given that they are heavier (pound for pound women are stronger than men, men just weigh more).

Women rely more on skill, and due to a higher body fat percentage, are better at endurance.

Rugby union and NFL "gridiron" may seem alike but it is actually way different.

Rugby union fans will argue that NFL is too boring, hence the stoppage after each tackle to commence with the next down, changes between, defence, offence, and special teams, Time outs, play clocks etc. and that NFL players are not as tough as Rugby players due to all the padding. Those gridiron guys get beat up pretty bad. The two main differences is that in Rugby union the focus is on the ball carrier and the breakdown, were in NFL the focus is on the recievers and the quarterback.

So its hard to say what is the better sport, as we can only say that the Rugby world cup is the third largest viewed sport worldwide, but I have never seen 100 000 people packed into a stadium to watch a "varsity cup" or even tri nations game, as the Americans do at the Rose bowl.

so its all about preference. its like comparing ice hockey to soccer, very simmilar in practice but way way way different.

in rugby 5 points is scored for 1 try, but if a conversation is successfull after a try then it would be 7 points.

1911, when US Milanese played the French team Voiron, saw the first match played in the country (although, in fairness, rugby had been played by the British community in Genoa who in 1893 had formed the 'Cricket and Football Club'). In 1927 the first steps to an organised rugby season were taken when a 'Comitato di Propaganda' was formed. The official birthday of the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR) is 28th September 1928.

The World Cup of 1987 provided a huge boost to the game, as did Italy's membership of the 6 Nations. Giancarlo Dondi, for some years manager of the national team, became President of FIR. Dondi understands the importance of creating a breeding-ground for new players, and has targeted schools, promoting youth rugby with a massive project that is helping to increase the popularity of rugby in Italy and will certainly produce the right kind of players in future.

The headquarters for the Harlequins Rugby Union is located in Twickenham, London, England. Twickenham has been the headquarters since the early 1900's.

He knew that he was a good rugby player at school SACS and proceeded his illustriuos career doing what he does fantastically now by slotting the ball through the posts from all over the parl and splicing through back lines when needed. Its attributed to William Web Ellis a student of Rugby School, Warwickshire England who in 1823 whilst playing football picked up the, which a the time was allowed in the game of football and instead of retiring back toward his team he ran forward (strictly against the ten rules) toward the opposing teams goal line. This new tactic caught on and was spread by Rugby students to colleges they then attended. From here it went global. In 1845 the RFu was formed and the formailsation of rules where created. This formed the basis for what we have today

The IRB rules state that

The field of play does not exceed 100 metres in length and 70 metres in width. Each in-goal does not exceed 22 metres in length and 70 metres in width.

(2) The length and breadth of the playing area are to be as near as possible to the dimensions indicated. All the areas are rectangular.

(3) The distance from the goal line to the dead ball line should be not less than 10 metres where practicable.
