Sally Ride studied physics at Stanford University as an undergraduate student. She then pursued a Ph.D. in physics, specializing in astrophysics, also at Stanford.
Sally Ride, the first American woman to travel to space, passed away on July 23, 2012.
As a young child Sally Ride played baseball and football with the boys that lived in her neighborhood. She also played tennis and at the age of 10 she was on the U.S. junior tennis circuit and was coached by tennis great Billie Jean King.
Sally Ride (born May 26, 1951) has apparently never had children. She was married to astronaut Steven Hawley from 1982 to 1987.
sally was the first American woman in space and she has encouraged women all over the world that they can do what they want and there is a first time for everything.
Sally Ride was the first American woman in space (the third woman as there were two female Soviet cosmonauts prior to her flight). She flew aboard the space shuttle Challenger on the STS-7 flight as a mission specialist, and was in orbit from June 18 to June 24, 1983. She flew a second mission, STS-41G, in 1984, along with a second female astronaut, Kathryn Sullivan.
Sally Ride made history in 1983, when she was the first American woman in space. After NASA, Sally Ride became the director of the California Space Institute at the University of California, San Diego, as well as a professor of physics at the school in 1989.
Sally Ride is not only the first American woman in space but she is also the youngest person to ever be sent into orbit.
yes. Sally Ride was born in Encino, California (a suburb of Los Angeles) in 1951. This makes her 60 years old as of 2011.
She looks like a lady with curly hair and she is a famous explorer, but I don't know why she is so famous. She really had make canada shuttle and indonesia shuttle together around the earth path.
Sally Ride represented the society of women when she went into space showing that women are just as capable as men.Sally Ride's contributions were very important. After that she dedicated the rest of her older years to educating young children.
Sally Ride probably liked to do space travel (why not she is the first woman in space after all!!) She also probably liked to work with NASA, and find new stars and planets.
Yes. Karen Ride. (Sally ride used to call her bear because she could not pronounce her name.)
Sally Kirsten Ride was the first American woman to fly in space, going aloft in the space shuttle Challenger in 1983 and again in 1984. (The very first woman in space was the cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova
As one previous answer wrote, the appropriate answer here has nothing to do with Mustang Sally.
The song the asker is referring to is Ride Captain Ride, by Blood Sweat & Tears.
It goes "Ride, captain ride on your mystery ship, Be amazed at the friends you've got there on your trip."
It was edited in the 80's-- probably not by Blood Sweat & Tears-- to have the lyrics say "Ride Sally Ride."
They do sing about "ride sally ride" in Mustang Sally, but it is unlikely that's what the asker is referring to, because that's not the name of the song and the Blood Sweat & Tears version includes a spaceship.
Hi. Different answerer here. That above was the worst answer I've ever heard.
'Mustang Sally' is the song the original asker was referencing. It's often mistakenly called 'Ride Sally Ride'. No one would ever hear 'Ride Captain Ride' and think it was about Sally Ride. In fact, the original answerer is also under the foolish assumption that Blood, Sweat & Tears recorded 'Ride Captain Ride', when in fact it was Blues Image. If he really knew enough to answer this question he would have also told that both Dennis Coffey and Lou Reed had original songs in the 70s that were actually called 'Ride Sally Ride', but like 'Mustang Sally', these were too old to have been about Ms. Ride. 'Mustang Sally', however, had its choral hook "Ride, Sally, ride" often mentioned in news articles about the famous astronaut. Also, NASA used the chorus of 'Mustang Sally' as a musical alarm for waking Ms. Ride when she was in space.
It doesn't take that long for hickeys to disappear, possibly about a couple of days, depends on how aggressive they are. If not couple of dabs from some concealer should do the job.
something that sally ride enjoys is tennis, running, volleyball, stamp collecting and softball. hope this information helps you!!
Sally Kristen Ride (May 26,1951 - July 23, 2012) attended Swarthmore College for three semesters, took physics course at UCLA, then enrolled at Stanford University as a junior. She first graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and physics. While at Stanford, she earned a master's degree and a Ph.D in physics, and worked on research in the fields of astrophysics and free electron laser physics.
