Sarah-Jane Smith is the character that Elisabeth Sladen played, and was a regular companion alongside Jon Pertwee (The Third Doctor) and Tom Baker (The Fourth Doctor) between 1973 and 1976 before coming back and going alongside David Tennant (The Tenth Doctor) in an episode called 'School Reunion' and appeared alongside him near the end of series 4 in 2008 and a small part at the end of 'The End of Time: Part 2'. She also had her own series on CBBC called 'The Sarah Jane Adventures'.

Unfortunately, Elisabeth sadly passed away on the 19th April 2011 due to cancer at the age of 63, which she had been suffering from for a long time. She leaves behind her husband, Brian Miller, and a daughter, Sadie Miller.

No because there has been sad news that Elizabeth sladen who played Sarah Jane died so told because of cancer. It would be tricky to find someone as nice and as good at acting as her to replace the Sarah Jane

not in the first 4 series but they do get closer. chances are that they'll kiss in series 5. fingers crossed!
