There are many challenges facing guidance and counselling in schools. The main problem is lack of communication and too much assumption on the part of counsellors. They should find a way of getting the students to trust them and open up.

You can research colleges and universities by name, or by programs of study, or by geographical location, size, or combinations of all etc. The site will provide you with a list of institutions based on your request. Make sure the college or university has a regional accreditation (most important). Practice navigating this site. It will be well worth the time and effort.

guidance is the act of making decisions for another person to help them get somewhere or help them to have a better future by showing them how to do it themselves. Counselling is the act of steering anthers thoughts till they come up with the correct awnser or behavior themselves. Neither is foolproof

continuous process because it is a cycle; contious..guidance is a way of learning and learning has no expiration as long as we live..

Better than what? You need to clarify. Still, a doctorate in psychology (PsyD) is a good fit particular to this profession. This is not to say there are not other good fits. Some might feel a doctorate in education EdD would be a good fit .

1. When your client is not cooperating with you. Then you can refer so you terminate as a counselor

2. When the counselor is not really attending to your problems, situation or concern you terminate and look for another counselor as a client maybe because the counselor is not an expert in the field you brought.

3. When counseling process is been fulfilled and each party has solved their issues.

There is supposed to be confidentiality unless it is something the parents need to know, or the child said things that could indicate an intention of harming themselves or others, or they reveal abuse. Then there are mandatory reporting laws.

The minimum educational requirement within the public school system is a master's degree in student personnel services. It would take approximately two to three years post bachelor's degree to complete.

This question is very typical on most Job Applications! It is very ambiguous and not specific. Think of it this way: If they had asked you this question while interviewing you, what would you say? The best answer depends on what type of job you are applying for and for whom the intended audience is. For example: School teacher- If it involves students-group them according to their abilities and try not to track them. Set up an agenda or schedule that would target your audience's needs. Pick a topic and make it relevant to your lesson plans. While you meet with one group, the others will have some seatwork to do as to not to disturb your session. Then, the next time, meet with the other group on subsequent days. It is a really good idea to know your students well. During the late summer, I call each of my incoming student's parents; introduce myself, and ask a lot of questions about their child's needs and their anticipated needs for their child as well. This really helps me on "opening day." You'd be surprised when my students realize that I already am aware of their needs and background information. Respect and trust is garnered from the start.

Now, if the audience is your coworkers-1-Set an agenda. Use cooperative techniques from the group and identify their roles. List the types of subject matter as headlines on an overhead, or a large poster board. Have the audience discuss which of the issues needs to be dealt with first, and so on. Set up a timetable for discussion and hopefully resolution. Guidelines for group session include mutual respect for one another, everyone's opinion is important, and there should be a time limit so as to move forward. Any matter that cannot be resolved should be tabled or voted on as whether any more time should be alloted-usually this gets your audience to come to an agreement. The best thing to do is to gather information about the schools in your area. If your alternative school is accredited and your learning needs are appropriate, you should be successful at making the change. However, you should examine the difference in environment between the two and make sure it is something you can stick with. For instance, students who drop out and a few years later want to go back to regular school often find that their maturity makes sitting in a classroom and following a schedule difficult.

If you are in 9th grade and want to change schools because of different good reasons, it is possible. Your counselor may have told you it was too late because she doesn't think you should transfer in the middle of the year.

The nature of the Broward Schools Virtual Counselor is that it helps parents track how their kids are doing at school. Proper educational management requires access to and sharing of certain student data. Teachers and administrators need to share this data all the time. The system makes it easier for teachers, administrators, parents to share data on students.

08:20- arrive at school and check pigeon hole and answer phone messages

08:30- go through emails that have been sent whilst answering queries of clients (students) who pop into the office before they head off to registration.

08:40- staff briefing

09:00- prepare for first client and deal with the quee of students outside which range from change of appointments to general worries

09:15- see first client of the day who is dealing with depression after breaking up with her boyfriend. She tells me she saw him with a different girl so I calm her down and talk through it then set her the task of writing a list of good things and bad things about herself to go through at the next session

10:20- file away the client's notes just as the second client arrives. She is coping with anxiety and the exams are approaching. I use the whiteboard with her to go through what is causing the anxiety and we find out that it is the fear of failing- next session will cover the fear of failing.

11:30- break, tea with boss whilst being updated with current child protection issues that have come about

11:40- third client, a boy with anger management due to his parents divorce. We go through a technique to targeting the anger at something else such as football and how it can help. The client feels better and agrees to join a rugby team.

12:40-lunch with other colleagues

13:30- fourth client, a sixth former dealing with Anorexia Nervosa. We discover it is due to her disruptive past from abusive parents and I set her the task of completing a food diary so I can understand her eating patterns to tackle the food intake for next session.

14:30-meeting with boss to discuss a child who is danger and may need to be removed from their house. We agree on a CAF meeting and arrange to speak to the child who is seeking the help.

15:30-check emails. Write letters to doctors and other contacts. Type up case notes.

15:50- receive a call telling me a client is threatening suicide because she hates her mum. I call her to my office and calm her down, discuss her upset and ensure she is of sound mind before allowing her to leave and keep focus on her attendance for the next day.

16:00- chat to a sixth form girl who I have been seeing for six months (she is overcoming grief) about favourite films, clothes etc. as she wanted to chat to someone generally.

16:10- leave to pick up my son from school.
