Computers these days do not need a screen saver at all, the monitors and screens have developed since the start. Originally the screens used to be CRT green screens which displayed the characters and information by sending a beam of light against a florescent background. When the computers were left displaying the same information time and time again (say when the user needed the toilet/coffee or even lunch breaks) the repeated image was burned into this florescent screen. So even when you were displaying other information you could still see the burned image in the background. To prevent this newer systems allowed the use of s program that blanked out the screen when the computer had not been used for a set time, this saved the 'burn' of the image. Hence the screen was saved - thus a screensaver. Today a screensaver is used primarily to prevent other users/information being accessed without authority. Most screensavers have a password protection.

NOT REALLY, Older displays used technology that used Phosphors that were charged to make colors display. When an image was on the screen too long the phosphors would sometimes "burn out" with the constant energy and leave that ghastly image on the screen called "BURN IN". A LCD screen uses a completely different technology, (liquid crystals that are charged). A LCD screen can sometimes get what is called "IMAGE PERSISTANCE" which kinda creates a ghost image on the screen. This is usually only a temporary problem which can be easily fixed. The best way is to make a background that is completely white and have the screen display that for a few hours. When you do this you can bring up the brightness on your display to its max setting. If you have a PC, you can go to the (paint) aplication on your start menu. You can there make a design or put a picture on the page. After you are completely done, Click the (File) icon, then click Save As. Name it anything you like. (DO NOT CLICK SAVE. MAKE SURE YOU CLICK SAVE AS!) From there you mash the file icon again, hit Save as Wallpaper/Screen Saver.

If you have a MAC, you can add your animation, picture, novie, anything you like on iphoto. Then select Save As. Name It wahtever you like. Then hit save as screen saver. Some MACs might say Save As Screen Pointer Interior. Selct that if you have it on your MAC.

You can but only if you make screenshots. On a mac you do this: cmd shift 4. I don't know what it is on a PC. Hope this helped :)
