It sounds like you have a short time delay for when the screen saver kicks-in. Change the time delay the computer sets between your last activity and starting the screen-saver. In windows 7 - right-click anywhere on your screen (so long as your mouse-pointer is not over an icon) and select personalize. In the dialogue box that appears, left-click on the screen saver icon (bottom-right of the box). You should see the word wait a small box next to it. The number in the box is the length of time the computer waits to start the screen-saver. Use the up and down buttons to change the time interval to a more suitable period. Remember to click apply.

The Cellar Saver is a simple device that attaches to the vertical flow-pipe exiting the sumpwell from the sump pump and it's wired to a home security system. It has a swing-arm that rotates away from an alarm contact by the rising water during a sump pump failure. The swing-arm has a float on one end and a magnet on the other end that lines up with the contact. When it swings away from the contact, it causes the switch to open and/or close, causing the contact to send a signle to a 24 hour zone on the security system. The alarm system must be monitored by a central station in order to let someone know that the pump has failed. If the system is not monitored, and there is a sump pump failure and you are not home, have a pair of hip boots handy!

Right click on the desktop, and change your screensaver to something else. :D

If you have a windows system you can do it two ways. One way is to go into the picture files and delete all pics or you can go into appearance and hit screen saver tab. When that comes up you will see what is programmed as your screen saver and you can change that with the drop down menu there. Same with the desktop, but you go to the desktop tab to do it. The menu in both will give a listing of the screen savers/desktops you can choose from and you can also preview them before you hit the apply button. In the same appearance area you can also change colors, sounds, and fonts for the personalization of your computer.

One can download screensavers for a cellphone from various websites like Wallpaper and Zedge. Both websites offer a million screensavers for all kinds of cellphones, which can be downloaded for free.

Type regedit into the search bar under the Start menu.

Open the program that comes up, and you see a list of folders.

Screensavers will be found under:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Screensavers.

Right click on your desktop and select properties, select screensaver. Then go to the pulldown menu and select none. Click apply then ok.

The iTunes Artwork screensaver is grouped with the Apple screensavers in System Preferences. You may need to click the small triangle beside Apple to show the list of screensavers.

Even in other Windows Operating System,there is no provision for removing/deleting unwanted screensavers. Am using Windows XP Home Edition,Version 5.1 SP2

A picture or pattern on a computer screen that appears when the computer has not been used for a period of time.

It is an outdated Windows feature that was intended to change what was being displayed on your monitor in order to avoid screen burn in. With the introduction and ultimately the proliferation of non phosphor-based monitors, screen savers were no longer a needed feature of windows. They have remained an expected feature for so many users over the years that it has not been removed from operating systems and in recent versions has been improved somewhat.

Screen savers remain moderately useful when they are enabled with a locking feature where a password is required to turn it off. Without the locking feature they can still be a rather pretty display of graphics or enabled as a slide-show of favorite photographs. There remain many different choices for free screen savers available as a download on the Internet.

Screen burn in was a problem with the first monitors in common use because they were typically phosphor-based electronic monitors. Burn in occurred when the monitor had the same graphic or words shown for lengthy periods of time and the monitor would "remember" that display.

What actually happens is the phosphor compounds which emit light to produce images lose their ability to emit light as they are used. So if the same image, or menu, or words were displayed for a long period of time those phosphor compounds used for that display would, when other things were displayed on the monitor, show a ghost image due to the difference in the amount of degradation of the phosphor compounds.
