Selena Quintanilla

Selena's musical debut was at her father's Mexican restaurant, Papa Gayos, which soon went bankrupt. Then she and her band performed at various clubs and restaurants, weddings, and local social events

First, She was on Barney and Friends, then she got a part in the new Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place, she then starred in Horton Hears a Who, then she starred in another movie called Another Cinderella Story the sequel to A Cinderella Story starring Hilary Duff, after that she starred in two more Disney movies. Princess Protection Program and Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie. Later she dropped her new album Kiss and Tell by her new band Selena Gomez and the Scene which dropped Septemeber 28. Wow! Obviously Selena's been busy!

Yolanda Saldivar was jealous of Selena,so she started stealing money from the fanclub. When fans started to complain, she was questioned by Selena and Abraham Quintinilla. She denied taking it. At a later date she called Selena and asked to meet her at the Days Inn in Corpus Christie to discuss the financial issue at hand. As they proceeded to talk they started to argue, and when Selena went to leave she was shot in the back.

Selena screamed for help told the employees she had been shot, she named who shot her and what room # then her eyes rolled up into her head she slipped into a coma then died..

-"I belong to the people and I don't want to build a fence between myself and my fans."

-"After a while things started clicking, I think it was more of a power struggle because we usually don't have to fight for what we do."

-"And it's because of our songwriting. You know it's hard to write songs. You can't just write it down."

-"It's like a gradual growing process, it's not like it came over night and I'm like I can't handle it."

-"The only way for us to put bread on the table was to try to do music professianally and make a living out of it."

-"We started playing gigs that we could get, if we could 100 dollars for playing 4 hours. We would be like, Oh god, this is cool (laughing) Now it's like "Uh" (laughing), But I mean, you gotta take what you can get, when you're getting started. We got laughed at, my father was was told we would never make it

-"Although my spanish is a little week. I feel that I am mexican. I am very proud of my roots. And since I was little we played Tejano music besides English music and country. It was something natural for us"

-(talking about a concert she was doing that night) "I'm nervous, I usually don't get nervous for shows, but I'm nervous tonight, see I'm too honest (laughing) I'm too honest for my own good" (laughing)

-(during the 1995 awards)"We got up and we screamed, it was at the pretailacost part of the awards and it was like maybe 10 of us sitting in a one row towards the back because we showed up late, like always, I'm always late for everything, and they announced me as the winner and I was like "Oh my god" and we stood up and we screamed and I was wearing this crystal beaded gown and I remember going down this, ya know how it kinda slants, and thinking, gee Selena, if you fall. (laughing) You're going to be soo embarrassed, don't fall, cause it had this fishtail in the back of it and I was trying to be all cool walking up there. It was great and looking back now, it's all an experience I will never forget"

On Growing Up:

"I lost a lot out of my teenagehood but I gained a lot too. I can't really say that I lost because I got ahead of everyone as far as career and being more mature about business, even though I didn't know what the heck was going on."

"I miss going to school and having friends; that's normal for anyone my age. I had a very boring childhood because I never had the opportunity to associate with anybody my own age due to my career. I miss being around kids my own age."

"I loved Lake Jackson because of the green grass, the trees. I remember eating at the Sonic and Dairy Bar. I remember how it would flood where I lived, and my friends and I would play in the water. I was a little tomboy when I was growing up. I used to like to play football with the guys and you know, normal things like hide-and-seek, and get ahold of my brother's bike and try to teach myself how to ride it."

"We used to get my mom's sheets, you know, the fitted sheets, and we used to go outside and hide from the cars on the front lawn. We would make bubbles and hide under there. And if we got seen we had to go stand on the corner and make these ugly faces."

"We had these monkey bars in the back of my house and we used to get my mother's sheets and tie them to the bars and make little cocoons and just hang in there all day."

Her Advice To Kids of America:

"Be at your best at all times."

"With a positive attitude, you can be anything you want to be."

On Her Grammy Experiences:

On Tejano Music:

"When dad first introduced us to it we were like, no you can't make us play it. There were times we would come in to practice and we would start crying, 'We don't wanna learn this music.' But we learned it and now that's all we listen to on the radio and we like to play it."

"Tejano music is a combination or should I say fusion of a lot of different types of music all rolled into one package. It's country music it's jazz, it has roots of German polka, it also has Mexican music in it."

"Although my spanish is a little weak I feel that I am Mexican. I'm very proud of my roots and ever since I was little we played english music and country music a side from Tejano. It was something very natural for us."

"Tejano music is a very relaxing style and it reminds me of home."

On Her Success: "

Thank goodness we stuck to it because we have come a long way, you know. Really and truly, I can't imagine myself having an everyday job and going into an office. I love business. I have my own business aside from singing, but I can't picture myself going to the same place everyday. I don't know, it would be kind of a drag to me, I guess I have gotten so used to traveling now. When I have the chance to relax, I'm real hyper and ready to go."

"The reason I'm so appreciative of everything that's goin on around me is cause I never expected it. Never dreamed...never in my wildest dreams thought I would come this far and I plan to keep that attitude."

"A lot of people say..ya know that it's hard to work with family and whats good about our family is that we've all had the same goal and we all have the same respect for my father...so when we get into a discussion there's dad like good old times with a belt. On Performing:

"Well, when I'm singing I'm a completely different person. I could be very free, depending on the situation I could do what I want. Compared to when I'm my normal self, like whomever, of the public."

Some of my friends thought she did go to jail cause of a photo I brought to school for a school project but I know more about Selena than they do and no she in fact did not go to jail if she had she in the photo I brought then why would she have lipstick on and her hair perfect!!!!!!!!!!!

Her favorite person is areej khalid

He is seen showing reporters boxes full of evidence and photos of the Tejano singer. Valdez shows reporters the gun, a bullet casing, a blood trail and blood stained high-top Reebok tennis shoes and a black cap Selena wore the day she was killed.

Selena quintanilla became famous from her father Abraham quintanilla. she was in a bad with her brother and sister and a guitar player named chris Perez. she married chris Perez. Abraham quintanilla tried to let the world hear her voice because it was amazing she starting of very young and she became very big with her music to me she is still here and she and her music lives on forever.

Her music touched the hearts of so many people.

She also was a wonderful role model, she showed you can do anything you want to as long as you work hard to get it.

She was a one-of-a-kind artist, (her awards, number one hits, and record sales prove that) and she was a wonderful human being.

Her death was a horrible loss in not only the Hispanic Community, but the whole world and especially the music industry.

She was a great talent and she will always be remembered.

She also designed her own clothes and had a boutique she had a small role in the movie don juan de Marco and appeared in a (novela) a Mexican soap opera

yes, Chris still loves Selena because he said in his interview "right now I have, except for her, everything that I want but I would give it all up just to have her back because that's how much she meant to me."

No her parents took her out of 8th grade so she can tour and start a career she was homeschooling. In fact, Selena finished high school classes and earned her GED from a Chicago school for artists like the one she was.

Selena's boutique, Selena Etc, was opened on January 27, 1993. Over time, the boutique went under new management then went bankrupt. The boutique officially ended on July 1, 2009

No it is not about her death. Selena wrote that song about her true love. Back before she knew he loved her just like she loved him. Selena Perez Quintanillia did die. She was killed by Yolanda Salvidor in a apartment building in Corpus Christi, Texas.

if u're talkin abt hw Selena came into Disney then here's it:

when she was 9 yrs old she starred in the most famous barney and frnds in the year 2000 or 2001 or 2002. she was in barney till age 11 or 12. then she MAY hv starred in some movies or something but when she became 14 Disney welcomed her by starring her in first Hannah Montana then she got her own show wizard of Waverly place in which she sang the theme song for the show. As she got recognised by ppl who liked her n became her fans as well as by all the Disney stars, she started making her own albums. very recent one is "Kiss & Tell" in which the song falling down is a must to hear. n jus a few 1 or 2 months b4 this album there was a 3 show crossover called "Wizards On Deck With Hannah Montana". it was a cross over of Hannah Montana suite life on deck n wizard of Waverly place(type it in youtube if u want to watch the cross over show.)

From everything I've heard and seen from interviews to movies she was awesome friendly never skipped an autograph if she had a bad day she would never ever be mad in front of fans on top of that she would always make some cool funny jokes in concerts

so really her personality was awesome cool and friendly

Her mom and dad split up when she was five years old, but her dad is still a part of her life. Here's an excerpt from an article that explains the situation:

She's often described as the child of a broken home who was raised by her single mother, yet she has had regular contact with her father ever since her parents divorced when she was five. Selena also tells me that she has known her stepfather Brian Teefey - who escorts her to our interview and sits quietly at a nearby table throughout - since she was seven. 'I'm very lucky to have two fathers,' she concedes with a giggle.

Selena's #1 known song is "Dreaming of You" which is from the album with the same name. It's the most famous one mainly because it was the one she finished right before her death and was released 3 months after her death
