Many people did. More than hundreds. They were trying to stay alive.

On September 11, 2001, two planes were hijacked and crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. The first plane, American Airlines Flight 11, was a Boeing 767, and the second, United Airlines Flight 175, was also a Boeing 767. Each plane was approximately 159 feet long and had a wingspan of about 156 feet. Both aircraft were fully loaded with passengers and fuel at the time of the attacks.

The date 9/11/01 is famous due to the tragic events in the U.S that occurred on that day. The U.S was attacked by terrorists on that day and many people lost their lives.

The South Tower collapsed at 9:59 am. The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 am. Of course there is a lot of speculation into these incidents, but the saddest fact is that over 2,500 people died for no good reason.

Both planes were originally destined for Los Angeles.

The Pentagon was attacked by terrorists as a part of the World Trade Center attacks on September 11th, 2001. The Pentagon was one of the main targets, but the attack was not as successful as the attack on the twin towers.

United Airlines Flight 93 was a passenger flight that was hi-jacked by al-Qaeda terrorists. The plane crashed near the Diamond T. Mine in Pennsylvania.
