What is the motive in Red-Headed League?

I'm not certain if this was in the books, but in the "Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Series", there was an episode titled, "The Case of the Red Headed League" (Aired 12/27/1954).

The Red Headed League was a fabricated organization, with the purpose of getting the owner of a small shop (Jabez Wilson), out of his shop for several days.

In the time of Wilson's departure, the 'leaders' of the Red Headed League would break into the shop everyday, without raising the suspicion of Wilson, and once inside the shop; would burrow a tunnel from the shop's cellar to the building next to the shop. The building next to the shop was the city bank.

In short, the Red Headed League was fake group, that gave reason for Jabez Wilson to leave his shop everyday, so that the shop would be empty. This allows the Red Headed League time to secretly dig a tunnel into the bank next door and then rob the bank.

What is Sherlock Holmes and The Aquilla Diamond about?

Check the link below.

While not a Holmes fan, I have never heard of this. There was a story about a missing diamond called the Southern Star. It had an odd conclusion . as it turned out the missing gem was eaten by a peacock or an Argus Pheasant or some similar bird and could not be recovered. odd as it is, the story was originally written by Jules Verne, better known for Science Fiction. The introduction of a Blue Rock resembling the Hope Diamond in the (Titanic) film is totally Off-base and unfounded. Had the Hope Diamond ANY connection with the Titanic disaster- well it would be history, and documented at that. Hope Diamond, an actress, was probably enamored by who else- Willie Sutton.

Is Sherlock Holmes for kids?

Not really, there's quite a lot of violence, and some drug use, but a nothing a child of about 10 couldn't handle. Also the language can be a bit much for a kid sometimes.

You might start kids with 'The Adventure of the Priory School' which features a missing child, which they might relate to.

Mary is a genius as great as Holmes, and the two form an unlikely partnership, with Holmes taking Mary along on a kidnapping case in Wales.
