In the first book, a study in scarlet Sherlock Holmes and Watson meet and share an apartment so that the rent wasn't expensive. Watson later finds out that Holmes is a detective, and they both later go to the crime scene where Mr. Drebber died. Holmes discovers all this stuff at the crime scene. Later in the book Holmes discovers that Mr. Strangerson was also killed. In the end Sherlock Holmes finds out that the actual killer was............................................. thats the end of part 1 in the book.

You might say The 'Gloria Scott' is the beginning of Sherlock Holmes for it is in this story that Sherlock Holmes first turned his attention to solving crime.

If you want a more realistic outfit, take a look at mens fashion during the Victorian Era. Period costume would be more than appropriate. Especially things made during the late 1880's, when most of the stories are set. Watch a little Jeremy Brett for an example.

Otherwise, if you're just looking for an Inverness Cape and a Deerstalker hat set-up, you can find an example of the latter in any Party City and there's probably a pattern online or in a book for the cloak. Classic Basil Rathbone/William Gillette look.

If you're going for something like the movie, watch the film and you can easily find the parts somewhere to complete it, I'm sure. Robert Downey Junior, he's the man to watch. More accurate than Rathbone but less so than Brett.

Or how about a more modern take? Benedict Cumberbatch portrays the detective in the BBC mini-series Sherlock. Despite his preference for designer suits, I'm sure some cheap imitations aren't that hard to create.

We are not told about any of Sherlock Holmes' female relatives except his grandmother, who was the sister of Vernet, the French artist (with no further details) if that is what you are asking about.

Watson and Sir Henry Baskerville sat up in Sir Henry's room waiting, and on the second night they heard the creak of a step in the passage. They took a candle and followed a shadowy figure, also with a candle, down the hall to where the figure stopped at a window. We never really hear the term crazy, it is often pointed out that Holmes is very eccentric. These eccentricities are almost always attributed in one way or another to his genius mind and his inability to quiet his thoughts. Often Holmes's actions come into question, leaving Watson and the reader to wonder if Sherlock has finally gone over the edge. Without fail the situation which left us wondering about his sanity inevitably turns out to be nothing less than a stroke of genius. When Holmes explains events, he restores our faith in his sanity.

There is a general thread to the stories. For the most part they were published in what was believed to be the chronological order. Some of the annotated version will set out what dates they believed were accurate based on the weather discussed. There are occasional references in stories about things that happened in previous stories.

Of course he has an accent. Everyone has an accent. To Americans, he has a British accent. To British people, he speaks normally.

The Sherlock Holmes TV Show which is considered the best finished years ago after the actor who portrayed Holmes, Jeremy Brett passed away.

There is at least 1 Sherlock Holmes TV show on at the moment.

It's called Sherlock. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson. It is a modern adaptation, set in 21st century London.

Series 2 will be coming to BBC1 soon. I recommend it. It's very good, some people even think it may be better than the Jeremy Brett version.

Also an American TV broadcaster called CBS are planning on making a modern Sherlock Holmes. Obviously they didn't copy the idea at ALL.
