What should you use for stuffy nose and excess mucus draining down your throat?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I had too much mucus and literally went to Thailand to change climate because of it. There they had this medicine called N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine in many different forms right behind the counter. It was sold to smokers to relieve phlegm and this saved my life. The recommended dosage is 1000 milligrams daily. It is priced low at $8 for 100 capsules. See the link in the related links section for a link to a place I've ordered it from before.

-------

In the US, you can buy Mucinex over the counter which works well for post nasal drip and to thin thick mucus so you can cough it up. There are many over the counter products for stuffy nose that may work for you. Ask your pharmacist for suggestions for products that will work best for your symptoms. If none of the over the counter products work for you, then see your health care professional to see if there is a prescription medicine or procedure that could be done to help your problem.

How do you get rid of a ear infection with a home remedy?

User Avatar

Asked by AliciaLuethje

Home remedies include: * A mixture of 50/50 White Vinegar and Sterile Water. * A mixture of 50/50 White Vinegar and Alcohol (90%). * Pure alcohol (90%). Note that if the skin is broken, whoever you treat with alcohol wil go into low orbit around the earth -- it's REALLY painful. Note also that these remedies are home remedies, and are not what I'd recommend medically. Using these home remedies may leave serious disorders untreated, which in turn may have permanent effects.

( first one I've ever had and hope to god I don't have another sinus infection ) the second time for strep throat and two ear infections at the same time. Throat is doing better after 2 days and ears no longer hurt but still have minimal hearing from both ears. What do you take for a sinus infection?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Easy... any saline nose drops and breathe in hot steamy air a lot and lightly blow your nose. It takes about 7-10 days to go away. Stay away from other nasal spary brands because if it takes more than 3 days with those sprays your most likely going to have it worsen on you. Just stick to simple decongestant pills and saline nasal spray.
