they are not supposed to be waxed because when you try to remove it with a wax comb or a scraper it can damage the foam, although you can wax it i find them quite slippy !

It's not actually the size of the skateboard that matter's, its the ball bearings the wheels have inside them. Cheap bearings that come with cheap walmart/warehouse boards almost always go slowly, were as proper bearings from your local skate shop will go a lot faster.

If your right foot is forward its called Goofy.

If your left foot is forward its called Regular.

A few different ways to determine which foot you have forward is * Put on slippery socks and run and slide on your kitchen floor, look to see which foot is forward. * Run and slide on ice, look to see which foot you have forward. * Which foot do you take the first stair step with? * Which foot do you kick a soccer ball with? After you decide which foot you like forward when you are on a board, and you decide to go backwards that would be called switch.

skate wax is wax that helps you grind. you can use a candle VOODOO 13: The ^ above is correct, skate wax helps you grind but also tail and nose as well. Also, keep in mind that the wax is made to rub on curbs, rails and stairs to make them slick and smooth. A candle may-or-may not be a thick enough wax to lay down on some of these surfaces. Many skatebord companies sell the wax blocks now pretty cheap. Note: Surf wax is NOT the same thing as Skate wax. So don't waste your money on Mr. Zogg's.

on amazon they have "penny boards" but they are what others call knock offs. they are kind of iffy though because they aren't good quality. I was looking for some cheap ones but i just decided to just save up for the original because knock offs are knock offs and some times they aren't as good as the real deal. XD

Handboards are alot better because you use your hands and it is easier to do trick on it.

It depends on your preference, whether you would rather have a smaller board or a larger board. Penny boards are smaller and good for cruising, some may perform tricks with them, but they aren't really made for tricks. Longboards are larger than a skateboard, the trucks are different, and they are great for cruising and coasting long distance.

I'm guessing you mean negative qualities of the act of skateboarding, so I'll answer that.

The two main things that come to mind that could be perceived as negatives are the risk of injury, and the frustration that some people feel when learning how to skateboard, or even how to learn a new trick on their board after they've been skateboarding for a while.

Skateboarding is something that brings bruises, injuries, and cuts and scrapes. And sometimes worse. It's part of skateboarding, and if you don't want to fall down and get hurt, skateboarding is not for you. That's pretty simple and pretty obvious. The only way to learn is to try, and trying means a certain amount of failure. Failure usually means falling down. But when success comes, just like anything that you love, there is nothing sweeter.

The second thing I can think of as a negative is frustration. Trying something over and over again until you get it right, especially something as difficult as a trick that has never been done, or that requires such a skill level that few people have ever done it, is very difficult on the mind. Not everyone has the patience to try something 10 times, falling hard on pavement each time, much less 100 times. That frustration builds and plays with your mind, and the ability to get up and try it again requires a level of desire and sheer guts that not everyone has.

I can't think of anything else negative about skateboarding. The one thing that SOME people might say is bad is the attitude or the perception that some people have of skaters, but that's got nothing to do with skateboarding, that has to do with particular people, not the actual act of riding a skateboard.

Skate parks were created to allow skateboarders to gather in a safer environment than on the streets. A lot of skateboarding was being done on public and private properties that endangered the lives of the skateboarders and the non skateboarding public. Skake boarders were also an insurance liability for businesses and others. Skate parks gave them a better, safer place to skate, to gather and to share techniques.

All of Tony's kids skate to some extent. There is a skatepark in his backyard and the kids use it for skateboarding as well as for other fun stuff that kids like to do, like playing tag, catch, etc. Riley, his oldest son, is quite an accomplished skateboarder, though, and is on his way to being a professional skater.
