ok i am a pro at tech decking i win some tech deck comps and i keep using the same board because it is really a great board but the one i keep on using is the foundation duffel party animal which is used by a pro skater named corey duffel it is light so you get good air it got good pop and great griptape and the wheels are cool its great if you are intrested in buying it here is a link of what it looks like you can get it from kmart if you live in australia or if you live in america you can get it from wall mart

Which is better a longboard or a cruiser board?
It depends on if you're strictly using your board to get around, or if you prefer to do tricks and the like. Although there are certain tricks that can be performed on a longboard, longboards are typically used for transportation and "Cruising".
Cruiser Boards are usually Shortboards or "Shlongboards" that can be used for both cruising and street-tricks.
Longboards are, well, longer, which allow the board to travel for a longer amount of time. If cruising is your main objective, then I would highly suggest a longboard.

When did skateboards come out?
Skateboarding, as we know it, was probably born sometime in the late 1940s, or early 1950s, when surfers in California wanted something to do when the waves were flat.
In the 1940s, the first skateboards started with wooden boxes, or boards, with roller skate wheels attached to the bottom. Crate scooters preceded skateboards, having a wooden crate attached to the nose (front of the board), which formed rudimentary handlebars.
The boxes turned into planks, similar to the skateboard decks of today. An American WAC, Betty Magnuson, reported seeing French children in the Montmartre section of Paris riding on boards with roller skate wheels attached to them in late 1944.

They are quite different to ride, the principals are the same so if you can ride a longboard, you'll be able to ride a skateboard but you'll find doing tricks on a longboard is far harder than on a skateboard.

There are actually dogs that can be trained to skate. Although it takes alot of time and effort to train them.
Is it better to ride loose skateboard trucks?
For loosening your trucks, you can turn easier and avoid obstacles, but you will get speed wobbles when you get going fast, and that can make you fall, and it's harder to land air tricks because the trucks will automatically wobble on impact.
For tightening your trucks, you can't turn as fast, but makes for you to be more stable with speed and you can land tricks easier.
