Snowboard wax is a rather pointless "invention", it's nothing else than repackaged & relabeled ski wax sold at an increased price. Someone saw a chance to sell more stuff to gullible people and went for it. Ski wax has been around for ages, so it'd be hard to pick out an inventor. You might as well ask who invented soap.

There is a lot of good griptape out there, the top brands are usually made out of the same stuff. As mentioned Mob and Jessop are good, but you can find other grip tapes, such as these:

The skateboard goes faster if the skateboards wheels are good and fast than the skateboard will go faster than a ripstick.

If you want to know when someone would use a longboard skateboard, it would be if they are wanting to go fast. The longboard's design is different than a normal skateboard designs which allows it to go very fast.

If you are a grommet (beginner in sk8ter talk) and you would like to do streetskating that involves kickflips, grinds, ollies, and kickturns then you should definetly get a trickboard. But if you are a more expierenced sk8ter who likes crusin' I reccommend a longboard. Overall a trickboard is more flexible and specifically designed for tricks.

I think the best wheels for sliding would be orangatang durain free rides, stimulus, or fat frees depending on the length of your board and on your weight, Also in heats are good the yellow wheel is the most slidiest from orangatng.
