Because they are "Christian rock." Christianity and rock don't mix. Skillet shouldn't even be categorized as rock or be played on normal radio stations. What I'm basically saying is that all religious music sucks because its all based upon total b.s.

Depends on what you mean by bad. I'd say no but some songs have "bad" things in it but most have references from the Bible and it's been confirmed they are Christan though I would listen to them I like Newsboys they are great but Skillet is mostly a adult music band not bad but they have not so good songs.

But there's a healing that comes with forgiveness in your life and a freedom that comes when you forgive someone else. And there's a song on the record called The Older I Get that is a song about my relationship with my Dad and feeling that I was kind of betrayed by him and all these bad feelings going on. But in the end, it came down to 'forgiveness' (relating to Don Henley's song, whose song he loves)... in the end when I forgave my Dad there was a real healing that came in my life and the song The Older I Get was about that and saying I wish I could go back... do it all over again and I would probably make that step earlier towards forgiving him because my life got so much better when I did."

John Cooper, who was at the time the lead vocalist for a band called Seraph, and Ken Steorts, who was at the time the guitarist of a band called Urgent Cry, met through a tour the bands had together. Soon after that tour, the bands separated, and Cooper and Ken decided to form an "experimental" band together called Skillet.

The song "Monster" by Skillet refers to the Monster (Sin) inside humans, and how we cannot do anything about our sin.
