The closest medical analogy to Sleeping Beauty Syndrome is the "Locked-in Syndrome". The patient often cannot move (or hardly at all) for months or years, and then one day, it's over and the individual is near normal again.

Well, in both Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, the princesses both are woken by a prince's kiss, take refuge in a cottage in the woods, befriend animals, and have an evil woman after them.

The differences I can think of are how Aurora was taken in by three good fairies and Snow White was taken in by Seven Dwarfs.

An older version of the story is called 'Sun, Moon and Talia', Talia being her name in that case. The Brothers Grimm named her Briar Rose, while Tchaikovsky called her Aurora (translating the name of one of her daughters, from the second part of the story).
