How much does a snowboarding instructers make in a year?
If your an instructor it depends on the mountain. probably close to minumum wage to start. If you mean a sponsored rider, they get paid for winning competitions, filming videos/photos, stuff like that. Its not an hourly job. A lot of pro snowboarders work regular part time jobs because its not a great paying job, they do it because they love it.
Can you use a snowboard helmet for biking?
you could, because they are essentially the same. But it would be very hot because of all the padding. But I've seen helmets where the padding just comes out and it can be used as a biking helmet like Helt-Pro. You can buy one helmet with winter hat, and some changeable summer hats and use it for biking)

Where can one find ride bindings for snowboards?
You can buy step in bindings for snowboard from your local sports shops/stores that sell outdoor sports equipment and gears. You can also buy snowboard bindings online from dealers and sellers such as Amazon and eBay and other independent websites that sell snowboarding gears. You can also rent these gears from the snowboarding spots you play at.
it depends on the event. if it is a race then the winner is the person that comes in first. if it is a trick contest then the winner is the person who scores the most points, typically by landing the most and best tricks and having a clean run.
Are triple nickel snowboards good for beginners in freestyle?
Triple Nickel Snowboards are great for beginner to intermediate riders. I personally have owned one of their "all mountain" type boards and they perform great for anyone wanting to get into the sport or someone trying to refine their skill and have fun on. I've also known some people that have used Triple Nickel bindings and goggles and they seem to have no complaints and are quite pleased with them. I've ridden on more expensive (rental) boards and I personally didn't see any noticeable difference in performance when taking on intermediate runs on both artificial and fresh powder snow. I believe I spent around $99 for mine at Big 5 near the end of the season and I have absolutely no regrets. I also love the fact that I didn't spend an arm and a leg for my gear and I am still able to have a blast every time I'm on the mountain.

How can you twist on snowboard?
when coming up to the tip of the jump, lean slightly either on your heel side or toe side, depending on which direction you want to spin. when in the air, twist your shoulders, followed by your hips, in the direction you wish to go. for me personally, it helps a lot to look at your board when you are spinning. if you find that your spinning is slow, really twist your legs and focus on the landing. when you land, compress you news and really focus you weight to the middle of the board, and ride on outta there!
What is more dangerous snowboarding or surfing?
When snowboarding you are in control (hopefully), you make the decisions as to the incline and obstacles on that incline, ect. When you step onto the back of a horse at least 1/2 of your control goes to another being, the horse. He has a mind of his own, his own agenda, and outweighs you by 100 to 1. So most definitely horseback riding is more dangerous. really you asked that horseback riding DUR!

What dose it take to be a snowboarder?
There are many amazing snowboarders out there such as Shaun White, Eddie Wall, Tara Dakides and Travis Rice. I dont think there is such thing as the best snowboarder in the world because there are so many good ones emerging.
dude you bite...check out romain de marchi and nicholas muller. easy answer!
...none seem to attempt to answer the question. Well I'm far from a pro snowboarder, but I would guess the keys to becoming a professional snowboarder are #1 practicing as much as possible, which might mean snowboarding during the summer months (there is a snowy mountain somewhere on Earth every day of the year), and #2 win contests/races, the bigger the better. From there, develop an image to get you sponsored (be sure to use the word "stoked" a lot)...grow long hair?
By definition, get paid. If you get paid, you are no longer an amature.
I am almost a pro. But how do you get people to reconize you?
What size bindings would you need for a size 10.5 snowboard boots?
It all depends on the brand of the bindings and the boot itself. Some companies may have a size range of 8-10 where-as another company or even model may range from 9-11. What I always do is go to the manufacturer's website and check out the stats for the product I am interested in.

She won the gold medal on balance beam- the only gold that she won.
Why snowboards used for sliding on snowy surface are wide and long?
It is not just wider but also slightly longer than our regular boards we would use in regular, wet, or east coast conditions. There are a few reasons to upsize your board in powder but they stem from the same main reason, which is weight distribution. The wider and longer the board the more the riders weight is spread out. In powder upsizing your board helps you stay on the top layer of snow which increases speed and control. Careful though if you get a board to large for your body weight you will not be able to control it.
snowboarders use wide boards to ride over soft powdery snow for them to catch up their weight at the same time, they could balance better.
Which is more expensive skiing or snowboarding?
Statistics from Sweden show that the snowboarders are about 10% of the people in the slopes and is slowly decresing. In the alps where most skiing in the world is done are the snowboarders much fewer than that typically around 2-3%.
What are the rules of snowboard cross?
First you need to know that downhill skiing is also referred to as Alpine Skiing. Second you need to decide if you are a "serious" ski racer or a "recreational" ski racer. Don't know which category you fit into? Check out their descriptions below. Serious ski racers are generally Junior ski racers in elementary through college age. Serious ski racers go to ski practice daily and have ski races every week. They may also be on a high school ski team if it is available in their area. These ski racers invest in ski equipment including two to three pairs of skis, helmet, Giant Slalom Suit, ski poles with wrist guards, shin guards, and other ski racing gear and equipment. Ski racing equipment can be very expensive, but a serious ski racer skis so often that it is worth it. Serious ski racers are competitive and may strive to become a professional ski racer one day. Recreational ski racers are those skiers that ski once in awhile or just for fun a couple times a month or week. Recreational skiers may have their own equipment, but don't usually have a giant slalom suit and/or protective equipment. Serious ski racers will want to check out the United States Ski Association website at http://www.ussa.org/PublishingFolder/42.htm. They having junior Alpine racing programs. These racing programs hold races at local ski areas every Saturday and Sunday. Typically you will have slalom races on Saturday and Giant Slalom races on Sunday. You take a 2 run race in the morning and another 2 run race in the afternoon. Recreational skiers will have fun in a Nastar race. Nastar races are usually set up as Giant Slalom and the courses are very easy to navigate. Check for a Nastar race at your local ski area.
No downhill skis are not an instrument, but they still need to be "tuned". Tuning your skis means keeping the edges sharp, the bottoms smooth and free of burrs, and waxing your skis. Basically you are keeping your skis in top shape so that they run faster down the ski slope because the goal in ski racing is to be the fastest. Sharpening the edges - You have sharp metal edges along the sides of your skis. The purpose of these edges is to allow your skis to cut into the snow otherwise known as "carving" a turn. If you didn't have edges you would slide all over the ice and snow and have trouble turning. You use an edge sharpener. Dull edges will cause your skis to slide out, especially on ice so you have to make sure they are sharp. The edges shouldn't cut you, but they should be sharp. Consult your local ski shop for proper technique. They can often do this for you. You should have it done at the beginning of each ski season if you ski every now and then.
