Is it safer to wear softball pants or softball shorts?

by far pants. in the heat I'm always extremely tempted to wear shorts but when sliding skin is often scratched or bruised or completely sloughed off. Also, they bunchup under your leg so your slide is much more jerky and less smooth. Pants keep your socks up, keep your skin on, you'll probably will still be bruised if you don't slide right. BUT they are by far superior.

Can a softball pitcher wear a glove on her pitching hand?

Yes, you can use a t ball mitt for softball. Many kids that use to play t ball still use there mitts however if it is getting small, get a softball mitt because the older they get the faster they throw and kids hands could get hurt. Softball mitts have padding in them so it will help protect there hands. There is nothing wrong with waiting!

Batting in softball?

-Walk to the left or right (depending on what side your better on) in the batters box

-If shes a slow pitcher stand in front of the home plate (don't get out of the batters box!)

-If shes a fast picter scut behind the home plate (don't get out of the batters box!)

-If you can hit off her and shes your type of pitcher stand in the middle (don't get out of the batters box!)

Right sided:

1. Walk to the batters box and make sure your not to far/close to the plate and get where you will hit the ball and bend knees (kind of like sqaute except not so down)

2.your left foot should slightly pointed inside towards your left foot (but not to much, just enough to where you can feel the weight.) Your left foot (back foot) should be pointing towards home plate.

3. Point bat up like '/' my coach always said you can remember by doing that is t (make sure your arms make a v and are not tense, relax)

4.The pitch is coming what do you do,make sure its coming knee-waist that's the strike zone anything above/below that is called a ball.

5. if its a strike lift up your left/front foot foot and as soon as your foot is back on the ground start to swing

6. don't pull bat back when batting everything goes forward, no negative motion

What are some ways an 8th grader could get ready for middle school softball tryouts if they've never played before?

Assuming that you have never played softball before...well, if you have any siblings that have any idea of how to hit, throw, and catch a ball, start practicing with them. Have them hit the ball to you, so you can practice catching, and hit it yourself, too. If you don't have able siblings, watch pro players on TV and see if you can pick up any things that might help you. Ask some of your friends to play with you. Remember to never be scared of the ball...when catching it, get behind it, don't sidestep it. Run up towards ground-balls, don't wait for them to come to you. The main thing is practice; the more you can get the better!

What is handle flex rating for easton bats?

The higher the rating, the stiffer the handle.

Now... the related questions I'm not yet sure of (but determined to get to the bottom of...

-- What is the range of these ratings? I'm GUESSING that 100 is the max.

-- What are the advantages/disadvantages of more/less handle flex? I BELIEVE that players with a faster natural swing speed will want a less flexible handle... the more flexible handles probably help a player overcome their lack of swing speed (and/or allow a player to swing more slowly - and therefore more controlled, perhaps)... I'm guessing this is the case because this is the situation with golf club shafts.

Can you play tennis and softball together?

So I play tennis for very long time and I'm a senior in my high school. I never played softball before, I really want to play this year. My mother doesn't let me because she thinks softball is gonna effect my tennis skills. I didn't play any team sports either and I really want to try softball. It's only for four months, and I'm not gonna play again. I want to keep playing tennis in college. So do you think 4 months softball will effect my tennis skills so bad that I can't play tennis in college level, or can I practice them together??

Runner stealing third base batter stands in batters box catchers arm hit batter in head is runner out?

no. the batter can stay in the batters box as long as they dnt move when someone is stealing third base. if the batter tried to block the catcher tho by moving, the bater is out. if the catcher hits the batter and the batter is still standing in the batters box, and the catcher throws to third base and the third baseman tags the runner the runner is still safe.

In baseball a base runner can usually get to a base quicker by running than by sliding explain why this is so why slid then?

When a throw is made to a base where there is no force out, the throw has to be catchable to avoid the runner taking more bases on an overthrow or an error. So a throw must be placed some distance above the ground for the position player to make a play on the ball. This gives the base runner the opportunity to slide under the throw and touch the base with either his hand or foot.

So I guess in short a slide is intended to get under the throw.
