These have to be sent first class whether you send them or not. 44-cent is the rate for up to 44 cents and ordinary shaped envelopes. 2-ounces cost 61 cents. Odd shapes have odd rates-- best ask your post office.

It depends on a lot of different factors. In addition to knowing what country they are from, what year they are issued and the condition, you have to identify the specific stamp. A catalog on line or in you local library can help you figure out these and find a catalog value.

In the US for a first class mail letter (1 oz.) it is .44¢

The average cost of a plain book of stamps is usually around 14-15 dollars. For a half book of stamps the cost normally ranges from 5-8 dollars.

You will need to consult the catalogs. Most libraries will have a copy of Scott's Postage Stamp Catalog of the World. First of all, you have to identify the specific stamp or card. That in itself can be a daunting task, but most of the catalogs are well illustrated with lots of information. Once you know what item you have, the catalog will provide a set of prices that can be used to estimate value.

The stamp was issued in a period of hyperinflation for Germany; a million marks was probably equivalent to 2 or 3 cents US at the time.

Depending on the condition, it might be worth 20 cents or so today. You could check a Scott catalogue or ask a dealer if you want a more precise estimate. I know that back in the 1970s they were fairly common in $2.00 "grab bags" of a hundred stamps.

Mint US stamps are worth their face value to use as postage, so use yours that way, if you need postage. 14 cents was a not widely used denomination, so you might want

to keep it and ask your collector friends if they need it for their collection.

Otherwise, your stamp has negligible value ( less than 25 cent retail) , but please do not throw it away! Keep it in your stamp collection for your children or yourself when you have more time. If you have more than one, you may be able to trade it for stamps of similar value. .

Or give it to a collector friend. Collectors always appreciate the thought even it they do not need the stamp.

Proper valuation will require a more detailed identification. If the stamp is British, there may be some variations in watermarks, perforation and even engraving. Consult a postage stamp catalog, Gibbon's is the standard used by most British collectors. It may be available in your local library. It will help you determine the specific stamp and provide a value for you.

The postage depends on the weight , the thickness and the dimensions of the letter.

The new rates are quite complicated, but you can consult the postal service web site and

perhaps figure out your postage without going to a post office.

This a very common regular issue stamp. Unused, it can still be used for 3 cents of postage. It has no additional value as a collectible.Used, it is about as worthless as any stamp can be-- dealers' buy-price is about 5 cents per 100.

Hard to say without a lot more detail. Use a stamp catalog, usually available at your local library, to identify the exact stamps you are looking at. That will allow you to get an estimated value and see if they are worth taking to a dealer.

Cost of a postage stamp was dependant on the face value of the stamp. The most common rate stamp is for First Class Mail. In the United States 1925 that was 2 cents for the first ounce.

Very little. These replicas have a layer of gold on the foil that is an atom or two thick. It is not really measurable and it would take thousands of them to make an amount worth anything. You might be able to get a $1 or two.

That would be Scott number US 1897 or 2225. Both versions have a catalog value of 20 cents used and 20 cents mint.

All stamps issued by the US since the end of the Civil War are valid for their face value. If there is no value shown, visit the USPS web site for a chart of the value of the undenominated stamps that they have issued. There is also a new 'Forever' stamp. This is being issued at the current cost of a First Class stamp and will be valid for one unit of First Class postage 'forever' regardless of what the price goes up to.

If the stamp has been used, the post office will tell you it is worthless. If a stamp has not been used, they will tell you it is worth whatever is on its face value. The post office will not appraise a stamp for its collectable value.
