The bicentennial stamps were first placed on sale January 1, 1932, at the post office in Washington, D.C.

While the bicentennial issue presents many unfamiliar images of Washington, the Post Office took care to place the widely loved Gilbert Stuart portrait of the president on the 2-cent stamp, which satisfied the normal first-class letter rate and would therefore get the most use. Several months after the series appeared, however, the first-class letter rate was raised from 2 cents to 3 cents. The greatly increased demand for 3-cent stamps remained unsatisfied by emergency reprintings of the 3-cent bicentennial issue and the 3-cent Lincoln regular issue then currently available. Moreover the new rate meant that the only Washington stamp available to the public for everyday use was one that offered a little-known and quite uncharacteristic image of Washington. Accordingly, the Post Office felt obliged to rush a new regular issue 3-cent stamp into production that offered a more familiar Washington portrait. Rather than taking the time to create a completely new design, the BEP revamped the bicentennial 2-cent Atheneum value as a 3-cent stamp (Scott #720), transforming it into a regular issue by eliminating the date ribbons flanking the portrait. This was printed in the standard 3-cent color.

Paper money is printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing ( BEP) in Washington, DC.

I am not sure about bonds, but I would bet that BEP prints them as well.

Stamp printing is now contracted out and several different printers get the various jobs by bidding on them.

Ashton Potter in Tonawanda, NY, Avery Dennison in Clinton,SC and Sennet Security, in Browns Summit, NC do much of this printing, if not all.

Not at the post office. Collectible stamps sold by stamp dealers would be subject to sales tax like any other retail sales.

There are valuable stamps from all over the world, it depends on how rare it is, it may depend on if it has a mistake on it, it depends if its used or never been used, it depends on the shape it's in. There are website you can find that will have the value of stamps along with pictures, I had a bunch of stamps that turned out the only valuable bunch in the whole bag were the ones from the soviet union. That is Scott number US 1156 It has a value of 50 cents mint and 15 cents used.

This is Scott #1897. This stamp is not from 1880s, that is when the omnibus that is pictured is from. It was issued 100 years later in the 1980's and has a minimal value and can be purchased for 15 cents. A dealer isn't going to want to purchase just one.

Scott #2252, Conestoga Wagon is a 3 cent stamp depecting a settlers wagon built in 1800.

This stamp is a common US commemorative stamp.

Mint US stamps are worth their face value to use as postage, so you can use yours that way, if you need postage.

Otherwise, your stamp has negligible value ( less than 25 cents retail) , but please do not throw it away! Keep it in your stamp collection for your children or yourself when you have more time. If you have more than one, you may be able to trade it for stamps of similar value. .

Or give it to a collector friend. Collectors always appreciate the thought even if they do not need the stamp.

American collectors would call that U.S. Scott number 876. It has a catalog value of 25 cents mint, 20 cents used.

The cost of a First Class US postage stamp in 1935 was 3 cents for the first ounce. It was raised from 2 cents in November of 1917. It stayed at that price until August of 1958.

Scott Number 924 Mint can be purchased for 60 cents and used for 25 cents. A dealer might give you a nickel for a used one, but usually isn't going to be bothered purchasing single stamps.

I believe it would be US Scott Number 316. An estimated catalog value for a plate line pair is over $240,000.

It depends on the size of your postcard. Since postcard sizes do cost a little more, my recommendation is to print on slightly smaller postcards (or just snip an eighth of an inch off the ends of yours.)

United States Scott #1063. You can purchase a used copy for 18 cents. A mint, or unused, copy would be 70 cents.

This is common, initials, symbols and numbers are often found on coins. The significance is known only to the person that put them on the coin.

Scott US#1270

If it is a first day of issue, it should have a cancellation. A First Day Cover is likely to be worth about a dollar. Without the cancellation it is worth the same as a used stamp, about 15 cents.
