The Pittsburgh Penguins played in the Stanley Cup Finals in the 1991 and 1992 playoffs. The Penguins captured the Stanley Cup in both years by defeating the Minnesota North Stars in six games to win the franchise's first Cup, then repeating as league champions the next year after sweeping the Chicago Blackhawks in four games.

Alot more players have won 4 Cups and some others have won even more Cups (best is 11 by Henri Richard) but these are the ones I'm aware of.

The Stanley Cup was first awarded decades before the NHL was created. They awarded the cup differently then. From 1892 until 1914 they did not have a round robin playoff series like they do now. The winners of series could challenge each other for the Cup. Some challenges were played in the middle of the season as long as it was approved by the Stanley Cup trustees. Therefore, there was usually more than one challenge in a season, which in turn means the Cup was awarded more than once in a season.

You know, this sounds like a trick question but I'll bite. The player who's name is on the Cup the most is Henri Richard, who was on 11 Stanley Cup winning teams with the Montreal Canadiens. However, Jean Beliveau's name is on it 17 times - 10 as a player and 7 as an executive.
