Ray-ban and most other manufacturers frames are made from Plastic compounds. Ray-ban used to make all its glasses out of 'glass'. Now it makes its sunglass products out of scratch resistent plastics. Often they will 'feel' like glass but are in fact most usually plastic production.

Where did you get them? How much did you pay for them? You can go to a retailer and show the glasses to them, but I would not recommend that. If they are fake, the store might just keep them. Counterfeit goods are illegal.

You could try going to the Armani website to compare your glasses to a photo of the real thing and see of you can find a difference.

I did the following... step by step, if you have any questions, please ask. - I placed the sunglasses perpendicular to me. One if the lenses will be close to you, while the other should be farther away. -I grabbed the farthest lens from your body with both hands. Placing your left had on the left side and your right and on the right side. One had is on the bottom of the lens, while the other is on the top of the lens. It does not matter which hand is on the bottom or top. -I grabbed the top and bottom of the frame, pulling away from the lens. At the same time I pushed with my fingers (that should be on the inside of the lenses) and pressed the lens out (on the lens closest to the nose pieces). You will hear a very faint "pop" when the lens clears the frame. -Then slide the lens out by grabbing the part that is out of the frame that is close to the nose piece -To put the new ones in, position the sunglasses the same way and put the replacement lens in the sunglasses, starting with the edge near the ear pieces. -Pull the top and bottom of the frame out and push the replacement lens into place. To understand the difference between polarised sunglasses and standard dark lenses, imagine two windows. One window has a dark tint and one has horizontal blinds. Polorized sunglasses will reduce glare!Example...if you wear polorized glasses to the lake...you will be able to see into the water instead of the glare on top of the water!The uv protection isn't better or worse with polorized.......it basically does the squinting for you!Most people that spend alot of time on the water will use polorized..fishing,etc!They are great for driving to...just becareful if your window is already polorized you wont see through it, if you have polorized glasses on..it will look distorted!you wont be able to read digital clocks and stuff as well!!

I just finished 're-socking' my Oakley C-wire sunglasses last night, so I can offer some insight.

I began by removing my old socks, wiping off the residue that remained with a dry paper towel, and then cleaning the entire earpiece area well with glass cleaner. Then I began to attempt to slide the new earsock on. It was so difficult that I was afraid that I was going to bend my frames, so I had to remove the sock and start over.

An important first step is to put a small dab of water-based lubricant on the very tip of the earpiece, where the sock will be started. (You can prolly also use petroleum-based jelly, but I don't know if this might possibly damage the sock, over time.) Don't use much, only a bit is required!

Now start the sock onto the earpiece, pushing it on in the correct alignment. If it starts to 'slow down' on you, simply use your finger to move a bit of the 'bead' of lube out in front of the sock onto the remaining, uncovered earpiece. If the sock begins to get out of alignment or twist at the rear portion, back at the end of the earpiece, realign it correctly and continue.

Once you have gotten the sock to the correct location at the front of the earpiece (towards the hinge and lens), you may find that it tries to 'retract' itself backwards towards the end of the earpiece. This simply means that you haven't yet advanced enough of the back portion of the sock onto the earpiece: in other words, it is in a 'stretched' condition. Just push a bit more of it onto the earpiece from the back of the sock until it stops trying to pull itself back. Then, again, ensure correct alignment of the sock.

Note: If you begin this process at a time when you can allow the glasses to 'sit' for a few hours (i.e., sock them one evening, and allow to sit all night), then you can be certain the socks won't try to 'retract' on you. This way when you trim the excess you'll be certain it will truly be the correct length, leaving no gaps in the front or back of the earpiece.

Also, if you're still having trouble, you might try heating the sock up a bit with a blowdryer to expand the material before you slide them onto the earpiece.

Don't use any petroleum-based substance on an ear sock. It will rot the rubber. Try this instead of Vaseline: Dishwashing liquid. That's right Oakley lovers, it works great. Put a little on the end of the earpiece and inside the ear sock. It will slide right on, and then you can rinse off the soap! Love those Oakleys!!
