The golf ball will land first. All objects fall at the same speed, but that's in a vacuum. The ping pong ball has a huge amount of drag (which is air resistance) for its weight, so it will be slowed enough for there to be a visible difference.

Answer

The golf ball will reach only a second or so before the ping pong ball. The chair will not be high enough for the ping pong ball to be considerably slowed due to air resistance.

What is the role of a line judge in table tennis?

Table Tennis does not have line judges.

The top official is the Tournament Referee.

The role of a tournament referee differs widely from one Association to another and from one tournament to another.

At one extreme he or she is involved in every part of the organisation, from drafting the entry form to arranging the finals.

At the other extreme, the referee appears only on the day of the tournament solely to decide any question of rule interpretation.

For each match there is an umpire, whose primary duty is to decide the result of each rally.

He is also required to exercise judgment in applying some laws and regulations, such as deciding whether a rally should be a let because a player's service or return may have been affected by circumstances outside the player's control, or whether a player's behaviour is acceptable.

An assistant umpire is solely responsible for decisions on edge balls at the side of the table nearest to him, and he has the same power as the umpire to decide the legality of a player's service action, whether a player obstructs the ball and some of the conditions for a let.

Where it is table tennis originated?

Table tennis has its origins in England as an after dinner amusement for upper class Victorians in the 1880s. Mimicking the game of tennis in an indoor environment, everyday objects were originally enlisted to act as the equipment. A line of books would be the net, a rounded top of a Champagne cork or knot of string as the ball, and a cigar box lid as the paddle. The popularity of the game led game manufacturers to sell the equipment commercially. Early paddles were often pieces of parchment stretched upon a frame, and the sound generated in play gave the game its first nicknames of "whiff whaff" and "Ping pong". Has table tennis rules changed?

Like most racket sports, badminton has a long history. It can be traced back to 2000 years ago in ancient Greece. Back then Badminton was called battledore and shuttle cock, and was played by two people hitting a shuttlecock back and fourth with tiny rackets. The battledore, modernly known as a racket, made from parchment of rows of gut stretched a crossed a wooden frame. The shuttlecock, whose name has remained the same, was made with a light, cork like material, with feathers around the top. This game spread to many other countries, such as, China, Japan, and Greece.

During the 18th century in India, the game was called POONA. British military officers who were stationed in India brought the game back to England. The game received its name in 1873. The Duke of Beaufort was having a party at his country place in Badminton, Gloucestershire. The game was being played at the party, so they decided to name the game badminton.

Over the years, badminton has changed its name and many of the rules, but one thing that stayed the same is the shuttlecock. The shuttlecock still has the same name and it is still the basic idea. The racket has evolved quite a bit over the years too. Now we use metal frames and the center is filled in with a wire pattern. Many of the rules have changed. Before, badminton was very basic, just hitting the shuttlecock back and forth. Now we have a lot more rules, to make the game more complicated.

How do you spin ball in ping pong?

You should return a back spin with top spin, and a top spin with back spin.

If you try to combat the other person's backspin with backspin of your own, then you run the risk of not putting enough backspin on the ball, and therefore the shot may go long.

Much better to continue the spin which your opponent has put on the ball, and make his/her back spin work for you. Your opponent's backspin is essentially your topspin, so your opponent is already helping you out.

You also need to understand that, when your opponent puts backspin on the ball, the ball will not go very far after it bounces on your side of the table. Thus, you need to move forward a bit to get to it.

Also, you should usually wait until the opponent's shot bounces up to its highest point before hitting the ball back to him/her. This might mean backing up and waiting for the ball to reach that point. You want to hit it when his/her shot is hovering in the air, not when it just hit the table. This will maximize your ability to control the return.

Only advanced players should combat topspin with topspin, or backspin with backspin. This is much more difficult and requires a great deal of skill.
