This is just my personal opinion. I usually tan after I take a shower because I feel like when I shave my legs after tanning that I'm shaving the tan off. I use a lotion that smells good after tanning and the salon I go to has deodorant in the rooms that I use when I get out. I also feel like a get a better tan because the shower opens my pores.

So with so many better alternative antimicrobial drugs in hand, doctors avoid using this combination. It is not true that you can not wear sunscreen in a tanning bed. Most tanners choose to use accelerators and maximizer's but some tanners still use sunscreen on sensitive areas and there are even lotions which contain a low SPF (usually no more then an SPF4).

Tanning beds have a "max" time. Work up to the max time minute by minute and do not tan longer than the max time. tanning beds are usually 10,15,or 20 minutes. The less max time the bed has the better and more efficient it is.

If your skin is healthy and moisturized, it should be fine.

The patches aren't affected by UV radiation - the dosage delivery rate is regulated by body heat. If the bed isn't giving you heat along with the UV, you shouldn't have a problem, but if it does, you can take it off (make sure you don't fold the edges or you won't be able to reuse it) and then reuse it later.
