this should be fine,considering tanning beds basically cook the skin more than anything else,just keep the area clear of tanning lotion and don't get any other chemicals on the piercing,for this will cause a large problem with irritation.

i would suggest being very cautious in the tanning bed tough,make sure the piercing stays cool and don't tan too much around it while its healing,for you need to keep the area hydrated and tanning or sunburn of any kind dries the skin

Im going to add on here... because the tanning lady is absolutely mistaken. ANYTHING that happens to your body has an affect on your baby. And it also depends on what type of artificial lighting it is.

Look at it this way, your body is literally losing moisture in the bed. You become hot and your skin is having a burn reaction. That is how you tan. Fans, lotions and water are all tools you use while in there to help your comfort during the process but the process is still happening just the same. Your body then develops chemicals that act as agents to try and save itself. And these chemicals are in your blood stream which is your baby's lifeline. You change that and your baby's changed too.

Don't do it! It does get into your blood stream. Tanning very bad for you skin. I'm sure your skin is a beautiful color, let it be.

I've peed in a tanning bed before, by accident, of course. Everyone who has ever been tanning knows that always when you undress and lay down on that plastic cover, you feel like you just gotta go. BUT the beds are designed so that it is impossible to electrocute yourself from juts laying inside. All of the beds are individually grounded (also making the 'tanning during the lighting storm' myth a lie). Also, think of all the goop people put on them before getting in the bed, that stuff is heavily water based, and the manufacturers take this into consideration. And finally, I have worked at a tanning salon, and I have been the poor sucker whose had to clean the beds. We clean them with heavily diluted cleaning products that are both high in acidity (like pee) and heavily water based (the dilution). Because we want to be as sanitary as we can, we spay a tonne of spray. Like a tonne. And never get shocked. Hope this helps!

High quality sanitizer. At the tanning salon I work at we use hospital quality sanitizer on the beds. But this can vary from tanning salons so be sure to ask what they use to clean the beds with.

The answer is YES provided the following: The buck boost Xformer is rated to provide the amperage required by the bed. The amperage rating should be on the electrical nameplate on the bed or inhte instruction manual. That you wire the secondary of the Xformer to the exact correct leads for the beds required voltage. (220V, 230V, etc.) Most bb Xformers do not come with a cord and "plug" to go into a 110V oulet, so you must also correctly wire a grounded plug and 3 conductor wire to the correct 110V primary leads of the Xformer. Best to have a qualified electrician do this, not a "wanna be" or handyman type. If miswired, the Xformer will "smoke" as soon as you plug it in and may damage the tanning bed! (And bb Xformers aren't cheap.) I'm sure tanning beds aren't either. Also understand, that when you take 110V and "boost" it to 220V, you are reducing the amperage by 50%. Therefore, if you're plugging into a 15 amp residentail circuit, you're only providing 7.5 amps which may not be enough to operate the bed. Ulimately, you're far better off to install a designated 20 amp, 220V circuit from the main panel to supply power to your tanning bed.

I would not recommend it. I have done it before and burned quite badly. I would ask an attendant before getting in without lotion on.
