(not to freak you out) But a tanning bed looks something like a coffin because of the top that closes over you. You are not completely closed in; it's very simple to get out of. The bottom part of the bed where you lie on and the top of the bed is covered with UV lights. You lie in the bed, close it over, and wait till your time is up. Its sole purpose is to make you tan faster than you would if you were in the sun. Some people go if they're allergic to the sun.
There really is no tanning bed safe tattoo. To prevent your tattoo from fading, put sunscreen on it generously.
Do yo u really need tanning bed lotions?
Tanning lotions are essential for tanning in tanning beds. There are several different reasons why and I'll explain them to you below. If you do not use a tanning lotion in a tanning bed you may damage your skin because of the harmful effects of UV light. Tanning lotions are designed to either block UV light or increase the effects of UV light on your skin. Tanning lotions will moisture your skin and some contain Vitamin E which helps repair damaged cells. Without moisturizing your skin you can develop wrinkles or have your skin peel. To read more about tanning lotions and their effects I suggest you read my article which will give you a basic understanding of the right lotion you should be using and the advantages of each of the 3 types of tanning lotions.

What happens if you get red after being in a tanning bed?
The redness usually means your either burnt, or really hot. Some tanning beds that have poor ventilation can get VERY hot, Therefore turn you pink/red for a while. Otherwise, you are burned. I would recommend starting out at 6 minutes for the first week, then going up 3 minutes every other day. Once you get your desired color you only need to go once or twice a week to keep the tan up.
Good luck and be safe!

Can regular tanning oil be used in a tanning bed?
I asked the Owner of the tanning salon I go too. And she told me i could use a little bit of tanning oil, but to not drench myself in it. So if you do maybe just put it on the top of your body because that part doesnt even touch the glass, and the bottom of your body does so it's already getting more exposure. Make sure you wipe down the best really good. Because, if it's all oily they may be even more suspicious about what you put on, and then you leave it all greasy.. they may not be too happy.

Is it safe to wash bed pillows?
No. In my expirience, I've washed a pillow, and when it came out, it was holding TONS of water. So I rushed it over the sink and drained some. I then put it in the dryer, and it ripped apart. I suggest you don't wash cotton or feaher pillows. Others, I'm not sure about. But still, if you'd like to save your pillows life, just wash it with a wet rag and water, and let it air dry.
What can you use for slats on an old metal bed that you've bought?
Just go get some 2x4s to put across the horizontal. It's cheap and easy. You can glue some wood bits to the inside, just inside where the wood meets the metal to keep it from sliding.
Can you get in the tanning bed with it the birth control patch on?
im sure it wouldn't stop you from getting in but wether or not it will effect you i cannot say...
You won't burn your insides at all. You do intensify the effects of the UV Rays, meaning you get tanner quicker, you also get burnt faster. I've worn it outside for a while, especially while boating. It indeed ruins boat interiors such as vinyl by cooking the material and causing it to dry rot.
Using baby oil indoors in a tanning bed isn't recommended because it can ruin the acrylic that you lay upon by making it craze or bubble. Crazing is small cracks that aren't totally through the acrylic but make it less transparent. The bubbling is caused because of the high of UV rays being sent through the oil and then to the acrylic. It costs a lot of money to replace the acrylic in the beds...sometimes up to 3,500.00. If you do decide to use it, use it wisely and keep your mouth shut or you risk being asked to leave more then likely.
I've used it on my feet successfully without damaging a bed or my body :)
